Monitor your taxi speed
Twenty knots on a monitor produces the visual sensation of about ten. The advice to "taxi at a walking pace" cannot fix this, because your sense of walking pace is exactly the thing that's broken. Put the groundspeed readout in your scan and obey it for the next fifty flights, the way a student pilot leans on the airspeed indicator before learning to read attitude.

Two stabilised approach gates, each with five checks, where the approach path is 1,000 ft and 500 ft above the runway.
The approach, gate by gate
Side view — the last 1,524 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,524 m of the 2,940 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
Touched down 610 m past the threshold — beyond the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
Departing from Kos Airport, a Boeing 737-MAX8 began its journey with a taxiing phase that lasted six minutes and covered a distance of four nautical miles. As the aircraft reached the runway, it initiated its departure roll on runway 32, utilizing 59% of the available length to achieve liftoff at a speed of 161 knots. The local weather conditions at the time of departure featured a temperature of 32 degrees Celsius, with a wind speed of 20 knots from a direction of 310 degrees, resulting in a 19-knot headwind and a 6-knot crosswind.
As the aircraft climbed away from Kos Island, it began its enroute climb, which started approximately one mile northwest of the airport. The climb phase saw the aircraft ascend from an initial altitude of 1,043 feet above sea level to a cruising altitude of 36,004 feet, a vertical increase of 34,961 feet, in a duration of 19 minutes and covering a distance of 123 nautical miles. Following the climb, the aircraft entered a level cruise phase, which lasted for 148 minutes and covered a distance of 1,073 nautical miles. The cruise phase was initiated approximately 11 miles northwest of Mesta, in the North Aegean region of Greece. Subsequently, the aircraft began its enroute descent, which started overhead Oberhonnefeld-Gierend, in the Rheinland-Pfalz region of Germany. The descent phase saw the aircraft decrease its altitude from 35,994 feet to 1,437 feet, a vertical decrease of 34,557 feet, in a duration of 26 minutes and covering a distance of 128 nautical miles.
As the aircraft approached Brussels Airport, it initiated its final approach to runway 01 from the south, with a heading of 14.0 degrees at an altitude of 1,279 feet above ground level. The aircraft landed on the runway, with a touchdown point located 193 meters beyond the touchdown zone. The touchdown speed was 134 knots, and the touchdown rate was firm at -318 feet per minute. However, the runway touchdown position was misaligned by 13.4 meters from the centerline. Following the landing, the aircraft taxied to the parking area, covering a distance of one nautical mile in a duration of four minutes. The total flight distance was 1,335 nautical miles, with a total flight time of 204 minutes and a fuel consumption of 7,268 kilograms.
The Boeing 737-MAX8 touched down on runway 01 at EBBR Brussels Airport, completing a final approach from the south with a heading of 14.0 ° at 4 nm and 1,279 ft above ground level. The approach quality was satisfactory, with a threshold height of 60 ft agl that was slightly above the target. The threshold speed of 139 kt was within the acceptable range, indicating a well-executed approach.
The aircraft made a firm touchdown at a speed of 134 kt, with a touchdown rate of -318 fpm. However, the touchdown point was 193 m beyond the touchdown zone, indicating a slight over-run. The runway touchdown position was also misaligned by 13.4 m from the centreline, which could have contributed to the over-run. The local weather conditions, with a temperature of 31 °C and a 10 kt headwind, may have played a role in the aircraft's performance.
The total landing distance of 1,074 m was 37% of the runway length, which is within the acceptable range. However, the runway rollout alignment was misaligned by 19.4 m from the centreline, indicating a slight deviation from the desired path. Overall, the landing performance scored 83.0%, reflecting a good but not exceptional execution of the landing.
