Monitor your taxi speed
Twenty knots on a monitor produces the visual sensation of about ten. The advice to "taxi at a walking pace" cannot fix this, because your sense of walking pace is exactly the thing that's broken. Put the groundspeed readout in your scan and obey it for the next fifty flights, the way a student pilot leans on the airspeed indicator before learning to read attitude.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
Side view — the last 5,000 ft of the approach.
Plan view — the first 5,000 ft of the 5,510 ft runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 845 ft touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with a taxiing period from the parking area to the runway, which took 10 minutes and covered a distance of 5 nautical miles. The aircraft, a TBM 850, then departed from runway 29 at Dobbins Air Reserve Base, KMGE. The takeoff distance was 1,636 feet, which accounted for 16% of the runway length. The liftoff speed was 81 knots.
As the aircraft took to the skies, it encountered local weather conditions with a temperature of 71°F and a wind speed of 4 knots from a direction of 200°. The crosswind component was 4 knots, while the headwind component was 0 knots. The enroute climb began approximately 1 mile southwest of Marietta, Georgia, and involved a vertical ascent from 2,159 feet above sea level to 4,995 feet above sea level, an increase of 2,837 feet in just 3 minutes, covering a distance of 8 nautical miles.
Following the climb, the aircraft entered a level cruise phase, which started 1 mile south of Powder Springs, Georgia, and lasted for 2 minutes, covering another 8 nautical miles. The enroute descent began 2 miles east of the 20GA Earl L. Small Jr. Field/Stockmar Airport Villa Rica, and involved a descent from 4,386 feet above sea level to 2,193 feet above sea level, a decrease of 2,193 feet in 6 minutes, covering a distance of 17 nautical miles.
The final approach to runway 17 at KCTJ West Georgia Regional Airport / O V Gray Field was made from the north, heading 165.0° at an altitude of 1,014 feet above ground level and a distance of 3 nautical miles from the runway. The landing was executed on a runway with a length of 5,510 feet, and the threshold height was good. The threshold speed was slightly above the target speed at 78 knots.
The touchdown distance was good at 844 feet, but the touchdown speed was a little fast at 70 knots. The touchdown rate was smooth at -148 feet per minute, and the runway touchdown alignment was very good. The local weather conditions at the time of landing were a temperature of 65°F and a wind speed of 0 knots from a direction of 199°, with no crosswind or headwind components.
In total, the flight covered a distance of 44 nautical miles and took 20 minutes to complete, using 118 pounds of fuel.
The TBM 850 aircraft successfully landed at KCTJ West Georgia Regional Airport / O V Gray Field, achieving a score of 98.2%. The final approach to runway 17 was conducted from the north, with the aircraft heading 165.0° at a distance of 3 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,014 feet above ground level (agl).
The landing was executed on a runway with a length of 5,510 feet, providing ample space for the aircraft to touch down safely. The threshold height was reported as good, indicating that the aircraft was at the correct altitude as it approached the runway. However, the threshold speed was above the target speed of 78 knots, which may have been due to the aircraft's approach configuration or the pilot's decision to maintain a higher speed.
The touchdown distance of 844 feet was considered good, indicating that the aircraft was able to touch down within a safe distance from the runway threshold. However, the touchdown speed of 70 knots was slightly faster than the target speed, which may have resulted in a slightly longer rollout. The touchdown rate of -148 feet per minute (fpm) was reported as smooth, indicating that the aircraft was able to touch down without any significant deceleration.
The runway touchdown alignment was very good, indicating that the aircraft was aligned with the runway centerline as it touched down. This is an important aspect of landing, as it helps to ensure that the aircraft is stable and able to maintain control during the rollout.
The local weather conditions at the time of the landing were favorable, with a temperature of 65°F and a wind speed of 0 knots from 199°. There was no crosswind or headwind, which made the landing even more straightforward. Overall, the TBM 850 aircraft performed well during the landing, achieving a high score and demonstrating a high level of proficiency.
