Work on the flare
Arrive slow and the sink rate at the threshold is already above schedule, the flare is short because there is no energy to extend it, and the touchdown is hard in a way that feels exactly like a late flare. Diagnosing a slow arrival as a late flare is the catastrophic misread: you respond by flaring earlier, which bleeds more speed, which makes the next one worse. The tiebreaker is threshold speed against VRef, not feel. Never diagnose a flare without it.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
Side view — the last 1,524 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,524 m of the 2,492 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
Touched down 799 m past the threshold — beyond the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with the Boeing 777-300 taxiing from the parking area to the runway at RJOO Osaka International Airport, taking 7 minutes and covering a distance of 1 nautical mile. The departure roll took place on runway 32L, with a takeoff distance of 20 meters, which is 1% of the runway length. The aircraft lifted off at a speed of 187 knots.
As the aircraft took to the skies, it encountered local weather conditions of 20°C temperature and a wind speed of 17 knots at 200°. The crosswind was 15 knots, while the tailwind was 7 knots. The enroute climb started overhead RJOO Osaka International Airport, with the aircraft ascending from 1,154 feet above sea level to 31,063 feet above sea level, an increase of 29,910 feet in 11 minutes and covering a distance of 60 nautical miles.
The enroute level cruise began 6 miles south east of Suzuka, Japan, and lasted for 14 minutes, covering a distance of 124 nautical miles. The aircraft then started its enroute descent 7 miles south west of RJTO Oshima Airport, descending from 30,848 feet above sea level to 8,185 feet above sea level, a decrease of 22,663 feet in 12 minutes and covering a distance of 63 nautical miles.
The enroute level cruise resumed 4 miles south west of Mobara, Japan, and lasted for 2 minutes, covering a distance of 7 nautical miles. The aircraft then began its final descent 6 miles east of Ichihara, Japan, descending from 7,733 feet above sea level to 623 feet above sea level, a decrease of 7,110 feet in 8 minutes and covering a distance of 21 nautical miles.
The final approach to runway 22 at RJTT Tokyo Haneda International Airport took place from the north east, with the aircraft heading 214.0° at 1 nautical mile and 587 feet above ground level. The landing on runway 22 took place at a speed of 144 knots, which was slightly above the target speed. The touchdown point was 376 meters beyond the touchdown zone, and the touchdown speed was 130 knots, which was good.
The total landing distance was 1,105 meters, which is 44% of the runway length. The runway touchdown alignment was very good, and the runway rollout alignment was perfect. The local weather conditions at the time of landing were 20°C temperature and a wind speed of 17 knots at 200°, with a crosswind of 4 knots and a headwind of 16 knots.
The flight concluded with the aircraft taxiing to the parking area from the runway, taking 4 minutes and covering a distance of less than 1 nautical mile. The total flight distance was 280 nautical miles, and the flight duration was 57 minutes. The aircraft used 7,328 kilograms of fuel during the flight.
The Boeing 777-300 aircraft successfully landed at RJTT Tokyo Haneda International Airport, achieving a score of 90.4%. The final approach to runway 22 was initiated from the north east, with a heading of 214.0° at 1 nautical mile and 587 feet above ground level (agl). The aircraft's approach was characterized by a slight deviation in threshold height, being above the target at 57 feet agl, and a slightly higher threshold speed of 144 knots.
Upon touchdown, the aircraft landed 376 meters beyond the designated touchdown zone, with a speed of 130 knots, which was considered good. However, the touchdown rate of -234 feet per minute (fpm) was deemed fair. The runway touchdown alignment was very good, indicating a high degree of precision in the aircraft's approach and landing.
The local weather conditions at the time of landing were favorable, with a temperature of 20°C and a wind speed of 17 knots from a direction of 200°. The crosswind component was minimal at 4 knots, while the headwind component was 16 knots, which likely contributed to the aircraft's stable approach and landing.
The total landing distance of 1,105 meters was 44% of the runway length, indicating a relatively short landing distance. The runway rollout alignment was perfect, demonstrating the aircraft's ability to maintain control and stability during the landing phase. Overall, the landing was considered successful, with the aircraft achieving a high score and demonstrating a high degree of precision and control.
