Monitor your taxi speed
Twenty knots on a monitor produces the visual sensation of about ten. The advice to "taxi at a walking pace" cannot fix this, because your sense of walking pace is exactly the thing that's broken. Put the groundspeed readout in your scan and obey it for the next fifty flights, the way a student pilot leans on the airspeed indicator before learning to read attitude.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
Side view — the last 1,227 m of the approach.
Plan view — the full 1,227 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 160 m touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with a taxiing period from the parking to the runway, which took 9 minutes and covered a distance of 3 nautical miles. The aircraft, a Cessna 208B, then departed from runway 03 at Phoenix Goodyear Airport (KGYR). The takeoff distance was 326 meters, which accounted for 17% of the runway. The liftoff speed was 76 knots.
The local weather conditions at the time of departure were characterized by a temperature of 18 degrees Celsius, with a wind speed of 5 knots at a direction of 69 degrees. This resulted in a crosswind of 3 knots and a headwind of 4 knots. The aircraft then began its enroute climb, starting overhead Goodyear, Arizona. The climb took 7 minutes and covered a distance of 12 nautical miles, during which the aircraft ascended from 1,968 feet above sea level to 7,216 feet above sea level, an increase of 5,248 feet.
Following the enroute climb, the aircraft entered a level cruise phase, starting overhead Komatke, Arizona. This phase lasted for 22 minutes and covered a distance of 61 nautical miles. The aircraft then began its enroute descent, starting 7 miles west of the El Tiro Gliderport in Tucson, Arizona. The descent took 3 minutes and covered a distance of 9 nautical miles, during which the aircraft descended from 6,921 feet above sea level to 4,480 feet above sea level, a decrease of 2,441 feet.
The aircraft then entered another level cruise phase, starting 3 miles west of the Ultralight Strip in Marana, Arizona. This phase lasted for 7 minutes and covered a distance of 13 nautical miles. The aircraft then began its final descent, starting 2 miles northwest of Ryan Field in Tucson, Arizona. The descent took 2 minutes and covered a distance of 2 nautical miles, during which the aircraft descended from 3,678 feet above sea level to 2,551 feet above sea level, a decrease of 1,127 feet.
The final approach to runway 15 at Ryan Field was made from the north, with a heading of 168.0 degrees at an altitude of 149 feet above ground level. The landing was made on the runway, which had a length of 1,227 meters. The threshold height was good, and the threshold speed was also good at 67 knots. The touchdown distance was 158 meters, and the touchdown speed was 60 knots, both of which were good. The touchdown rate was smooth at -126 feet per minute, and the runway touchdown alignment was perfect.
The local weather conditions at the time of landing were characterized by a temperature of 16 degrees Celsius, with a wind speed of 6 knots at a direction of 130 degrees. This resulted in a crosswind of 3 knots and a headwind of 4 knots. The total landing distance was 416 meters, which accounted for 34% of the runway. The runway rollout alignment was very good.
The taxiing period from the runway to the parking took less than 1 minute and covered a distance of less than 1 nautical mile. The total flight distance was 101 nautical miles, and the flight duration was 48 minutes. The aircraft used 148 kilograms of fuel during the flight.
The Cessna 208B aircraft successfully landed at KRYN Ryan Field, demonstrating exceptional piloting skills and adherence to standard operating procedures. The final approach to runway 15 from the north, heading 168.0°, was executed with precision, with the aircraft at 0 nm and 149 ft above ground level (agl).
The landing itself was a testament to the pilot's expertise, with a threshold height that was well within acceptable limits. The threshold speed of 67 kt was also satisfactory, indicating a smooth and controlled descent. The touchdown distance of 158 m was within the expected range, and the touchdown speed of 60 kt was well within the recommended limits.
One of the most impressive aspects of this landing was the smooth touchdown rate of -126 fpm, which is a clear indication of the pilot's ability to control the aircraft's descent and maintain a stable approach. The runway touchdown alignment was perfect, with the aircraft aligning itself with the centerline of the runway.
The local weather conditions at the time of the landing were favorable, with a temperature of 16°C and a gentle wind of 6 kt at 130°. The crosswind component was minimal at 3 kt, while the headwind component was 4 kt, which helped to reduce the landing distance. The total landing distance of 416 m was only 34% of the runway length, indicating a very short landing roll.
The runway rollout alignment was also very good, with the aircraft maintaining its alignment with the centerline of the runway throughout the rollout phase. Overall, this landing was a textbook example of a well-executed approach and landing, with the pilot demonstrating exceptional skills and judgment.
