Improve the pattern downwind leg
Spacing cues are relative to your eyepoint, so two simmers with different FOV settings following the same wingtip cue fly patterns half a mile different in width, and a wide FOV compresses depth so the runway on base looks further away than it is, biasing you towards a late turn. Pick a camera position and FOV, save it, and never change it, because every judgement you calibrate is calibrated to that picture.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate for a circuit: seven checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate is an instrument-approach check and does not apply. These checks are the approach's score.
At the 500 ft gate: centreline 1.5° off, against a 1° limit.
The approach, gate by gate
Side view — the last 1,524 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,524 m of the 1,866 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 304 m touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The Hawker H25B taxied to runway 23 at EGPE Inverness Airport and commenced the take-off roll, covering 849 m which represented 46 % of the available runway. Liftoff was achieved at 141 kt. Ambient conditions were 17 °C with a wind of 2 kt from 269°, giving a 2 kt head-wind component and a 1 kt cross-wind component.
A left-hand pattern entry was flown for 2 nm, completed in 36 seconds, before turning onto the left-hand crosswind leg for a further 1 nm in 23 seconds.
The aircraft then executed a downwind turn covering 4 nm with a measured angle to the runway of 47.3°, and proceeded on the downwind leg for 5 nm in 107 seconds.
A base-leg turn followed, spanning 4 nm and recorded at an angle of 45.7° to the runway, after which the base leg itself was flown for 2 nm in 59 seconds.
A final turn of less than 1 nm was completed in 29 seconds, positioning the aircraft for the final approach.
During the descent phase the aircraft reduced altitude from 876 ft AGL to 57 ft AGL over a period of 72 seconds.
The final approach to runway 23 was flown with the aircraft meeting the stabilisation gates, preparing for touchdown.
Touchdown occurred on runway 23, whose total length is 1,866 m. The threshold speed was recorded at 110 kt, and the aircraft touched down after 305 m of rollout at 99 kt with a vertical speed of minus 289 fpm. Alignment on touchdown was perfect, and the local weather remained 16 °C with a wind of 2 kt from 269°, providing a 2 kt head-wind and 1 kt cross-wind.
Runway rollout distance measured 774 m, representing 42 % of the runway, and alignment during rollout was described as very good.
In total the flight covered 20 nm, required 8 (unspecified units) of time, and consumed 101 kg of fuel.
The Hawker H25B completed the final approach to runway 23 at EGPE Inverness Airport, descending from 876 ft agl to 57 ft agl in 72 seconds while being scored on the stabilisation gates; local weather was 16 °C with wind 2 kt from 269°, a 1 kt cross-wind component and a 2 kt head-wind.
During the threshold and flare phase the aircraft maintained a good threshold height and achieved a good threshold speed of 110 kt, setting up the conditions for a controlled touchdown.
Touchdown occurred 305 m down the runway at a speed of 99 kt, with a fair touchdown rate of -289 fpm and perfect runway touchdown alignment; the total landing distance was 774 m, representing 42 % of the 1,866 m runway.
The rollout was very good, with runway rollout alignment remaining excellent throughout the deceleration.
With a score of 95.1 % the landing was strong overall; reducing the touchdown rate will further smooth the flare, while the current speed and alignment practices should be maintained.
