Maintain the centreline
A small uncorrected heading error at 40 knots becomes a metre of offset per second by 100 knots, noticed only at rotation, producing a crabbed liftoff. Root cause is nearly always eyes on the tape instead of the far end of the runway. Small heading changes displace a distant point visibly long before the nearby centreline stripes look wrong.

Two stabilised approach gates, each with six checks at 1,000 ft and 500 ft above the runway. They are the approach's score: the checks passed out of the checks that ran.
The approach, gate by gate
Side view — the last 2,336 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 2,336 m of the 4,258 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
Touched down 909 m past the threshold — beyond the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The Skyward C680 taxied from the parking area to runway 04 at BGGH Nuuk Airport, a movement that lasted 8 minutes and covered 1 nm.
Commencing its departure roll on runway 04, the aircraft used 1,016 m of runway (110 % of runway length) and became airborne at a liftoff speed of 133 kt. Ambient conditions were a temperature of 4 °C with wind 4 kt at 10°, giving a head-wind component of 3 kt and no cross-wind.
Climb began about 1 mile north of BGGH, with the airplane climbing from 968 ft asl to 42,975 ft asl, an increase of 42,007 ft achieved in 24 minutes while covering 135 nm.
Level cruise was established 115 miles southwest of Kangaamiut and persisted for 252 minutes, during which 1,824 nm were flown.
Descent started 9 miles northwest of CYCT Coronation Airport, with altitude decreasing from 42,792 ft asl to 4,874 ft asl, a loss of 37,918 ft over 22 minutes and a distance of 128 nm.
The final approach to runway 35R at CYYC Calgary International Airport involved a descent from 1,348 ft agl to 89 ft agl in 98 seconds, and the aircraft scored on the stabilisation gates.
Touchdown occurred on runway 35R, whose total length is 4,258 m. The threshold height measured 56 ft agl, slightly above target, and the threshold speed was slightly above target at 130 kt. The aircraft contacted the runway 490 m beyond the touchdown zone at a speed of 109 kt, with a smooth vertical rate of minus 104 fpm and excellent alignment. Local weather at the time was a temperature of 6 °C with wind 2 kt at 356°, providing a head-wind component of 2 kt and no cross-wind.
The rollout covered a total landing distance of 2,252 m, representing 53 % of the runway, and alignment during rollout was very good.
In total, the flight covered 2,097 nm, required 319 minutes of elapsed time, and consumed 3,697 kg of fuel.
The approach to runway 35R at CYYC Calgary International Airport was assessed as stabilised at the 1,000 ft gate, with gear, flaps, sink rate, glideslope, centreline and speed all within limits. The aircraft descended from 1,348 ft agl to 89 ft agl in 98 seconds on a final approach that met the stabilisation gates.
At threshold the height was 56 ft agl, slightly above target, and the threshold speed was slightly above target at 130 kt. The flare was executed from this altitude and speed.
Touchdown occurred 490 m beyond the touchdown zone, with a touchdown speed of 109 kt judged good and a smooth touchdown rate of minus 104 fpm. Runway touchdown alignment was very good.
The rollout covered a total landing distance of 2,252 m, representing 53 % of the 4,258 m runway, and runway rollout alignment was very good.
Minor refinements should focus on reducing the touchdown point to fall within the designated touchdown zone and fine-tuning the approach speed to meet the target value, which will further optimise landing distance and alignment.
