MY FS FLIGHTS
Flight Score
Work on the flare
Arrive slow and the sink rate at the threshold is already above schedule, the flare is short because there is no energy to extend it, and the touchdown is hard in a way that feels exactly like a late flare. Diagnosing a slow arrival as a late flare is the catastrophic misread: you respond by flaring earlier, which bleeds more speed, which makes the next one worse. The tiebreaker is threshold speed against VRef, not feel. Never diagnose a flare without it.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
Side view — the last 1,524 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,524 m of the 3,345 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 473 m touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with a taxiing period from the parking to the runway, which took 10 minutes and covered a distance of 2 nautical miles. The aircraft, an Airbus A321, then departed from runway 28R at Dublin Airport (EIDW), with a takeoff distance of 822 meters, which accounted for 26% of the runway. The liftoff speed was 144 knots.
As the aircraft took off, it encountered local weather conditions of 11°C temperature and a wind speed of 12 knots at 270°. The crosswind was minimal at 1 knot, while the headwind was 12 knots. The enroute climb started approximately 1 mile north of Dublin Airport, where the aircraft climbed from 1,246 feet above sea level to 36,039 feet above sea level, an increase of 34,792 feet in 17 minutes, covering a distance of 106 nautical miles.
The enroute level cruise began overhead Llandyrnog, Wales, and lasted for 5 minutes, covering 40 nautical miles. The aircraft then began its descent from 36,008 feet above sea level to 21,212 feet above sea level, a decrease of 14,796 feet in 7 minutes, covering 49 nautical miles. This was followed by a short climb from 20,916 feet above sea level to 21,643 feet above sea level, an increase of 727 feet in 2 minutes, covering 8 nautical miles.
The aircraft then began its descent from 21,391 feet above sea level to 7,425 feet above sea level, a decrease of 13,966 feet in 9 minutes, covering 41 nautical miles. The enroute level cruise started again overhead Bovingdon, England, and lasted for 2 minutes, covering 7 nautical miles. The aircraft then began its descent from 7,077 feet above sea level to 1,363 feet above sea level, a decrease of 5,714 feet in 7 minutes, covering 12 nautical miles.
The final approach to runway 27L at London Heathrow Airport (EGLL) was made from the east, heading 270.0° at 4 nautical miles and 1,277 feet above ground level. The landing was made on runway 27L, which had a length of 3,345 meters. The threshold height was above the target, and the threshold speed was well above the target at 131 knots.
The touchdown point was 52 meters beyond the touchdown zone, with a touchdown speed of 124 knots, which was a little fast. The touchdown rate was firm at -360 feet per minute. The runway touchdown position was misaligned by 8.5 meters from the centerline. The local weather conditions at the time of landing were 10°C temperature and a wind speed of 13 knots at 180°, with a crosswind of 13 knots and a headwind of 0 knots.
The total landing distance was 888 meters, which accounted for 27% of the runway. The runway rollout alignment was slightly misaligned by 14.3 meters from the centerline. The taxiing period from the runway to the parking took 3 minutes and covered less than 1 nautical mile. The total flight distance was 269 nautical miles, taking 61 minutes, and the aircraft used 2,460 kilograms of fuel.
The Airbus A321 aircraft successfully landed on runway 27L at EGLL London Heathrow Airport, achieving an overall score of 87.7%. The final approach to the runway was initiated from the east, heading 270.0° at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,277 feet above ground level (agl).
Upon landing, the aircraft touched down 52 meters beyond the designated touchdown zone, which is a deviation from the target. The touchdown speed of 124 knots was slightly above the target, indicating that the pilot may have been able to reduce the speed further to achieve a smoother touchdown. The touchdown rate of -360 feet per minute (fpm) was firm, suggesting that the aircraft was able to absorb the impact of landing effectively.
However, the threshold height at 61 feet agl was above the target, and the threshold speed was well above the target at 131 knots. This may indicate that the pilot may have been able to adjust the approach to achieve a more optimal touchdown.
The local weather conditions at the time of landing were characterized by a temperature of 10°C and a wind speed of 13 knots from 180°. The crosswind component was 13 knots, while the headwind component was 0 knots. These conditions may have presented some challenges for the pilot, particularly in terms of maintaining alignment with the runway centerline.
The runway touchdown position was misaligned by 8.5 meters from the centerline, and the runway rollout alignment was slightly misaligned by 14.3 meters from the centerline. This suggests that the pilot may have experienced some difficulties in maintaining alignment with the runway during the landing roll.
Overall, while the landing was successful, there were some areas for improvement, particularly in terms of touchdown speed, threshold height, and alignment with the runway centerline.
