Slow down before tight turns
Twenty knots on a monitor produces the visual sensation of about ten. The advice to "taxi at a walking pace" cannot fix this, because your sense of walking pace is exactly the thing that's broken. Put the groundspeed readout in your scan and obey it for the next fifty flights, the way a student pilot leans on the airspeed indicator before learning to read attitude.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
Side view — the last 5,000 ft of the approach.
Plan view — the first 5,000 ft of the 9,939 ft runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 1,055 ft touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with the Vision Jet taxiing from the parking area to the runway at LTFG Gazipaşa-Alanya Airport, a process that took 2 minutes and covered less than 1 nautical mile. The aircraft then departed from runway 08, with a takeoff distance of 2,015 feet, which accounted for 31% of the runway. The liftoff speed was 98 knots.
The local weather conditions at the time of departure were characterized by a temperature of 62 degrees Fahrenheit and a wind speed of 5 knots from a direction of 120 degrees. This resulted in a crosswind of 3 knots and a headwind of 4 knots. The aircraft then began its enroute climb, starting overhead LTFG Gazipaşa-Alanya Airport, and climbed from an altitude of 915 feet above sea level to 29,000 feet above sea level, an increase of 28,085 feet, in 20 minutes and covering 53 nautical miles.
Following the enroute climb, the aircraft entered a level cruise, starting 14 miles south of Aydincik, Turkey, and lasted for 32 minutes, covering 167 nautical miles. The aircraft then began its enroute descent, starting 32 miles northwest of FC05 Haifa Static Carrier - CVN78, Israel, and descended from 29,003 feet above sea level to 6,014 feet above sea level, a decrease of 22,989 feet, in 21 minutes and covering 81 nautical miles.
The aircraft then entered another level cruise, starting 1 mile east of Al Lubban al Gharbi, Palestine, and lasted for 2 minutes, covering 5 nautical miles. The enroute descent then resumed, starting overhead Umm Safa, Palestine, and descended from 6,015 feet above sea level to 1,543 feet above sea level, a decrease of 4,472 feet, in 7 minutes and covering 10 nautical miles.
The final approach to runway 30 at LLBG Ben Gurion International Airport was made from the south east, with a heading of 301.0 degrees at 4 nautical miles and 1,412 feet above ground level. The landing was successful, with a touchdown distance of 1,049 feet, which was 22% of the runway length. The touchdown speed was 62 knots, and the touchdown rate was smooth at -147 feet per minute. However, the runway touchdown position was slightly misaligned by 12 feet from the centreline.
The local weather conditions at the time of landing were characterized by a temperature of 66 degrees Fahrenheit and a wind speed of 3 knots from a direction of 88 degrees, resulting in a crosswind of 1 knot and a tailwind of 2 knots. The total landing distance was 2,176 feet, and the runway rollout alignment was very good. The aircraft then taxied to the parking area, a process that took 4 minutes and covered less than 1 nautical mile.
The total flight distance was 322 nautical miles, and the flight duration was 93 minutes. The aircraft used 657 pounds of fuel during the flight.
The Vision Jet has successfully landed at Ben Gurion International Airport, achieving a high score of 98.1%. The aircraft approached the runway from the southeast, heading 301.0° at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,412 feet above ground level (agl). The pilot executed a precise final approach, taking into account the runway's length of 9,939 feet and its orientation.
Upon touchdown, the aircraft demonstrated good threshold height and speed, reaching 70 knots. The touchdown distance was also satisfactory, measuring 1,049 feet. The touchdown speed of 62 knots was within acceptable limits, and the rate of descent was smooth at -147 feet per minute (fpm). However, the runway touchdown position was slightly misaligned by 12 feet from the centerline, which may require some adjustments in the pilot's approach strategy.
The local weather conditions at the time of landing were favorable, with a temperature of 66°F and a gentle wind of 3 knots from 88°. The crosswind component was minimal at 1 knot, while the tailwind component was 2 knots. These conditions contributed to a relatively short total landing distance of 2,176 feet, which accounted for only 22% of the runway's length. The runway rollout alignment was excellent, indicating that the pilot maintained control and stability throughout the landing process.
Overall, the Vision Jet's landing at Ben Gurion International Airport was a success, with the pilot demonstrating a high level of skill and precision. The aircraft's performance was well within acceptable limits, and the landing was executed smoothly and safely.
