MY FS FLIGHTS
Flight Score
Arrival
Begin the flare with progressive back pressure and keep it coming until the sink is arrested, rather than flying it on flat.
What happened: The nose was barely raised in the flare and little of the sink was taken out, flying the aircraft onto the runway. This pattern usually carries through to a firm touchdown with a noticeable sink rate.
Watch for: Vertical speed indicator: a smoothly reducing sink through the normal flare band, not a steady rate into the runway.
There are several things that can go wrong during the flare, carrying too much speed over the threshold, starting the flare at the wrong height and inconsistent flight control inputs, all contribute to a poor flare resulting in a hard touchdown or a float down the runway.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
Two stabilised approach gates, each with seven checks, where the approach path is 1,000 ft and 500 ft above the runway. They are the approach's score: the checks passed out of the checks that ran.
The approach, gate by gate
Side view — the last 1,524 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,524 m of the 3,089 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 376 m touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The Airbus A320 taxied from the parking area to runway 02 at LPPT, covering 2 nm in 5 minutes.
The departure roll on runway 02 accelerated the aircraft to a liftoff speed of 166 kt, using a takeoff distance of 1,752 m (47 % of the runway). Ambient temperature was 25 °C with wind from 309° at 5 kt, including a 5 kt crosswind and a 1 kt headwind.
Climb began overhead Camarate, rising from 1,262 ft asl to 34,009 ft asl, an altitude gain of 32,747 ft achieved in 23 minutes while covering 166 nm.
The aircraft entered level cruise one mile west of Tejeda de Tietar, maintaining altitude for 49 minutes and traversing 394 nm.
A subsequent climb segment started 16 miles south east of Premia de Mar, increasing altitude from 34,005 ft asl to 34,939 ft asl, a gain of 934 ft in 2 minutes over 13 nm.
Level cruise resumed 26 miles south of Sant Pol de Mar, lasting 72 minutes and covering 574 nm.
Descent commenced 9 miles south east of Haffouz, descending from 34,859 ft asl to 1,310 ft asl, a loss of 33,549 ft in 18 minutes across 115 nm.
The final approach to runway 09 at DTTJ was flown from the west on a heading of 88.0°, intercepting the glide path at 4 nm and 1,280 ft agl.
Touchdown occurred on runway 09, whose length is 3,089 m; the threshold speed was 138 kt, and the aircraft touched down at 130 kt. The touchdown distance measured 379 m and the vertical speed was minus 390 fpm. Alignment on touchdown was perfect. Local weather reported a temperature of 31 °C, wind from 110° at 4 kt, with a 2 kt crosswind and a 4 kt headwind. Total landing distance was 1,437 m (47 % of the runway).
Runway rollout alignment remained perfect as the aircraft decelerated to a stop.
The Airbus A320 taxied from the runway to the parking area in 2 minutes, covering less than 1 nm.
Overall, the flight covered a total distance of 1,270 nm, required 173 minutes of flight time, and consumed 7,543 kg of fuel.
The final approach to runway 09 at DTTJ Djerba Zarzis International Airport was flown from the west on a heading of 88.0° at 4 nm and 1,280 ft agl, with a temperature of 31 °C, wind 4 kt from 110°, a 2 kt cross-wind component and a 4 kt head-wind component; the overall landing score was 98.2 %.
At threshold the aircraft presented a good threshold height and the threshold speed was good at 138 kt.
Touchdown occurred 379 m down the runway, a good distance, with a touchdown speed of 130 kt that was a little fast, a firm touchdown rate of minus 390 fpm, and runway touchdown alignment was perfect.
The rollout covered a total landing distance of 1,437 m, representing 47 % of the 3,089 m runway, and runway rollout alignment was perfect.
For the next flight, reduce the touchdown speed a few knots to bring it closer to the target reference speed, and refine flare timing to achieve a slightly softer touchdown while maintaining the excellent alignment already demonstrated.
