Shorten the long landing
Ground effect becomes significant below about one wingspan of height. A Cessna 172, with a 36 ft span, enters ground effect at flare height - the float it feels in the hold-off is ground effect arriving on cue. An A320, with a span around 117 ft, has been in ground effect since before the threshold and there is no sudden cushion to feel, only a gradual reduction in induced drag that lengthens any float you allow.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
Two stabilised approach gates, each with seven checks, where the approach path is 1,000 ft and 500 ft above the runway. They are the approach's score: the checks passed out of the checks that ran.
At the 500 ft gate: speed 24 kt FAST on the reference speed of 136 kt.
The approach, gate by gate
Side view — the last 2,180 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 2,180 m of the 2,997 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
Touched down 978 m past the threshold — beyond the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
Taxiing from the parking area to the runway at TFFF Martinique Aimé Césaire International Airport took approximately 8 minutes, covering a distance of 2 nautical miles. The aircraft then began its departure roll on runway 10, utilizing 74% of the 2,026-meter runway to achieve liftoff at a speed of 159 knots. Local weather conditions at the time of departure featured a temperature of 30°C, with a wind of 19 knots at 90°, resulting in a 4-knot crosswind and a 19-knot headwind.
As the aircraft climbed away from the airport, it began its enroute climb 1 mile north of Ducos, Martinique, reaching an altitude of 5,115 feet above sea level in just 2 minutes, covering a distance of 9 nautical miles. The climb was characterized by a significant increase of 4,091 feet, with the aircraft reaching a maximum speed of 159 knots. The enroute level cruise phase commenced 3 miles northeast of Le François, Martinique, lasting 3 minutes and covering 17 nautical miles. The aircraft then began its enroute descent 5 miles west of Fort-de-France, Martinique, descending from 5,081 feet to 2,040 feet in 3 minutes, covering 15 nautical miles.
