Work on the flare
Arrive slow and the sink rate at the threshold is already above schedule, the flare is short because there is no energy to extend it, and the touchdown is hard in a way that feels exactly like a late flare. Diagnosing a slow arrival as a late flare is the catastrophic misread: you respond by flaring earlier, which bleeds more speed, which makes the next one worse. The tiebreaker is threshold speed against VRef, not feel. Never diagnose a flare without it.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
Two stabilised approach gates, each with seven checks, where the approach path is 1,000 ft and 500 ft above the runway.
The approach, gate by gate
Side view — the last 1,524 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,524 m of the 2,480 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 296 m touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
Departing from EDDB Berlin Brandenburg Airport, the Airbus A321 began its journey with a taxiing period of 9 minutes, covering 2 nautical miles to reach the runway. The aircraft then took off from runway 24L, utilizing 2,574 meters, or 65% of the runway, to achieve liftoff at a speed of 149 knots. The local weather conditions at the time of departure featured a temperature of 9°C, with a 5-knot headwind and a crosswind of 1 knot.
As the aircraft climbed to its enroute cruise altitude, it traversed a distance of 130 nautical miles in 21 minutes, increasing its altitude by 35,794 feet to 37,011 feet above sea level. The climb phase was initiated 1 mile southwest of the departure airport. The aircraft then entered a level cruise phase, lasting 27 minutes and covering 206 nautical miles, before beginning its descent to prepare for landing. The descent phase, which started 4 miles northeast of Figeholm, Sweden, saw the aircraft decrease its altitude by 32,021 feet in 23 minutes, covering 139 nautical miles.
The final approach to runway 26 at ESSA Stockholm-Arlanda Airport was initiated from the east, with the aircraft maintaining a heading of 256.0° at 4 nautical miles and 1,353 feet above ground level. The landing was executed with a threshold speed slightly above the target at 141 knots, and a touchdown distance of 296 meters was achieved. The total landing distance was 1,320 meters, or 53% of the runway, with a runway rollout alignment that was very good. The aircraft then taxied to the parking area, covering less than 1 nautical mile in 4 minutes. The total flight distance was 511 nautical miles, with a total fuel consumption of 4,266 kilograms and a flight duration of 93 minutes.
The final approach to runway 26 at ESSA Stockholm-Arlanda Airport from the east was executed with precision, with the aircraft maintaining a heading of 256.0° at 4 nautical miles and 1,353 feet above ground level. The approach quality was excellent, with a good threshold height achieved. However, the threshold speed was slightly above the target at 141 knots, indicating a slight deviation from the ideal landing conditions.
As the aircraft touched down on the runway, the touchdown distance was good at 296 meters, but the touchdown speed of 137 knots was a little fast. This resulted in a hard touchdown rate of -443 feet per minute. Despite this, the runway touchdown alignment was very good, indicating that the pilot maintained excellent control during the landing. The local weather conditions, with a temperature of 1°C and a wind of 10 knots at 230°, contributed to a relatively calm landing environment, with a crosswind of 4 knots and a headwind of 9 knots.
The total landing distance of 1,320 meters was 53% of the runway length, indicating a relatively short landing distance. The runway rollout alignment was very good, demonstrating the pilot's ability to maintain control and stability during the rollout phase. Overall, the landing was scored 97.0%, reflecting the high level of precision and control demonstrated by the pilot during the approach, touchdown, and rollout phases.
