Shorten the long landing
Ground effect becomes significant below about one wingspan of height. A Cessna 172, with a 36 ft span, enters ground effect at flare height - the float it feels in the hold-off is ground effect arriving on cue. An A320, with a span around 117 ft, has been in ground effect since before the threshold and there is no sudden cushion to feel, only a gradual reduction in induced drag that lengthens any float you allow.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
The approach, gate by gate
Side view — the last 545 m of the approach.
Plan view — the full 545 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 98 m touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with a short taxiing period from the parking area to the runway, taking approximately 2 minutes and covering less than 1 nautical mile. The aircraft, an SR22, then departed from runway 05 at LFKA Albertville General Pierre Delachenal Airfield. The takeoff distance was 377 meters, which accounted for 54% of the runway. The liftoff speed was 75 knots, and the local weather conditions at the time of departure were characterized by a temperature of 25°C and a wind speed of 3 knots from a direction of 282°.
As the aircraft climbed to a higher altitude, it began its enroute climb from 1,538 feet above sea level (asl) to 11,139 ft asl, an increase of 9,600 feet in just 7 minutes, covering a distance of 10 nautical miles. The climb started overhead Notre-Dame-des-Millieres in the Auvergne-Rhone-Alpes region of France. Following the climb, the aircraft began its enroute descent from 11,136 ft asl to 6,380 ft asl, a decrease of 4,757 feet in 5 minutes, covering a distance of 8 nautical miles. The descent started overhead Le Bois in the Auvergne-Rhone-Alpes region of France.
The final approach to runway 22 at LFLJ Courchevel Altiport was made from the north-east, heading 226.0° at an altitude of 0 nautical miles and -100 feet above ground level (agl). The landing on runway 22 was successful, with a runway length of 545 meters. The threshold height was good, and the threshold speed was slightly below the target at 68 knots. The touchdown distance was good at 96 meters, and the touchdown speed was 64 knots, which was also good. The touchdown rate was perfect at 280 feet per minute (fpm).
However, the runway touchdown position was slightly misaligned by 4.5 meters from the centreline. The local weather conditions at the time of landing were characterized by a temperature of 13°C and a wind speed of 5 knots from a direction of 248°. The crosswind was 2 knots, and the headwind was 5 knots. The total landing distance was 219 meters, which accounted for 40% of the runway. The runway rollout alignment was also slightly misaligned by 7.7 meters from the centreline.
In conclusion, the flight was a successful one, covering a total distance of 19 nautical miles in 15 minutes and using 16 kilograms of fuel. The aircraft performed well throughout the flight, with good takeoff and landing distances, and a perfect touchdown rate.
The SR22 aircraft successfully landed at LFLJ Courchevel Altiport, achieving a score of 91.5%. The final approach was conducted from the north east, heading 226.0° at 0 nm and -100 ft above ground level (agl). The aircraft touched down on runway 22, which has a length of 545 meters.
The threshold height was satisfactory, but the threshold speed was slightly below the target at 68 knots. However, the touchdown distance of 96 meters was good, and the touchdown speed of 64 knots was also within acceptable limits. The touchdown rate of 280 feet per minute (fpm) was perfect, indicating a smooth and controlled descent.
The local weather conditions at the time of landing were characterized by a temperature of 13°C, with a wind speed of 5 knots at 248°. The crosswind component was minimal at 2 knots, while the headwind component was 5 knots. These conditions contributed to a relatively stable and predictable landing environment.
The aircraft's runway touchdown position was slightly misaligned by 4.5 meters from the centerline, which may have been due to factors such as wind drift or pilot error. However, the total landing distance of 219 meters was only 40% of the runway length, indicating a good stopping performance.
During the rollout phase, the aircraft's alignment was slightly misaligned by 7.7 meters from the centerline. This may have been due to the same factors that contributed to the initial touchdown position misalignment. Despite this, the landing was overall successful, and the pilot demonstrated good control and management of the aircraft throughout the approach and landing phases.
