MY FS FLIGHTS
Flight Score
Slow down before tight turns
Twenty knots on a monitor produces the visual sensation of about ten. The advice to "taxi at a walking pace" cannot fix this, because your sense of walking pace is exactly the thing that's broken. Put the groundspeed readout in your scan and obey it for the next fifty flights, the way a student pilot leans on the airspeed indicator before learning to read attitude.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
Side view — the last 1,671 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,671 m of the 2,295 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
Touched down 596 m past the threshold — beyond the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with a taxiing period from the parking to the runway, which took 9 minutes and covered a distance of 3 nautical miles. The aircraft, a Boeing 737-800, then departed from runway 22R at John F. Kennedy International Airport (KJFK). The takeoff distance was 1,289 meters, which accounted for 49% of the runway. The liftoff speed was 169 knots.
The local weather conditions at the time of departure were characterized by a temperature of 11 degrees Celsius and a wind speed of 19 knots at a direction of 170 degrees. This resulted in a crosswind of 13 knots and a headwind of 15 knots. The aircraft then began its enroute climb, starting 1 mile northeast of Broad Channel, New York. The climb took 20 minutes and covered a distance of 129 nautical miles, during which the aircraft ascended from 1,052 feet above sea level to 36,268 feet above sea level, an increase of 35,216 feet.
Following the enroute climb, the aircraft entered a level cruise phase, which started 96 miles southeast of Southampton, New York. This phase lasted for 155 minutes and covered a distance of 1,213 nautical miles. The aircraft then began its enroute descent, starting 77 miles northwest of R095 British Virgin Static Carrier - Prince of Wales, British Virgin Islands. The descent took 28 minutes and covered a distance of 155 nautical miles, during which the aircraft descended from 38,275 feet above sea level to 1,498 feet above sea level, a decrease of 36,777 feet.
The final approach to runway 10 at Princess Juliana International Airport (TNCM) was made from the west, with a heading of 81.0 degrees at 4 nautical miles and 1,477 feet above ground level. The landing was made on runway 10, which had a length of 2,295 meters. The threshold height at 58 feet above ground level was slightly above the target, but the threshold speed was good at 145 knots. The touchdown point was 181 meters beyond the touchdown zone, and the touchdown speed was a little fast at 144 knots. However, the touchdown rate was good at -185 feet per minute.
The runway touchdown position was slightly misaligned by 4.1 meters from the centerline. The local weather conditions at the time of landing were characterized by a temperature of 27 degrees Celsius and a wind speed of 19 knots at a direction of 85 degrees, resulting in a crosswind of 1 knot and a headwind of 19 knots. The total landing distance was 1,591 meters, which accounted for 69% of the runway. The runway rollout alignment was very good.
The taxiing period from the runway to the parking took 3 minutes and covered a distance of less than 1 nautical mile. The total flight distance was 1,507 nautical miles, and the flight duration was 220 minutes. The aircraft used 8,256 kilograms of fuel during the flight.
The Boeing 737-800 aircraft successfully landed at TNCM Princess Juliana International Airport, achieving a score of 97.0%. The final approach to runway 10 was initiated from the west, with a heading of 81.0° at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,477 feet above ground level (agl).
Upon landing, the aircraft touched down on the runway, with the threshold height being slightly above the target at 58 feet agl. However, the threshold speed was satisfactory at 145 knots, indicating a smooth and controlled descent. The touchdown point was located 181 meters beyond the designated touchdown zone, which may be attributed to a slightly fast touchdown speed of 144 knots. Nevertheless, the touchdown rate of -185 feet per minute (fpm) was considered good, signifying a controlled and stable landing.
The runway touchdown position was slightly misaligned from the centerline by 4.1 meters, which may have been a result of the aircraft's approach path or the pilot's decision to touch down slightly off-center. The local weather conditions at the time of landing were characterized by a temperature of 27°C and a wind speed of 19 knots from a direction of 85°. The crosswind component was minimal at 1 knot, while the headwind component was 19 knots, which likely contributed to the aircraft's stable approach and landing.
The total landing distance of 1,591 meters was 69% of the available runway length, indicating a relatively short landing distance. The runway rollout alignment was deemed very good, suggesting that the aircraft's brakes were applied smoothly and effectively, allowing for a stable and controlled deceleration. Overall, the landing was considered successful, with the aircraft achieving a high score and demonstrating a high level of proficiency in terms of approach and landing performance.
