Departure
Hold the nose down until the speed reaches 58 kt, then rotate.
What happened: You started the rotation at 42 kt, 16 kt before the 58 kt rotation speed.
Watch for: Airspeed indicator: 58 kt at rotation

A typical trainer rotates in the mid-50s of knots - a 172 at around 55 KIAS, climbing out at a Vy in the low 70s, though check your own POH rather than memorising Cessna's numbers - and the transferable rule is that Vr sits just above the stall speed in takeoff configuration. Rotate early because "it felt ready" and the aircraft lifts off inside ground effect, where induced drag is reduced, then climbs out of it into more drag. On a marginal-performance day the result is an aircraft that lifts off and then refuses to climb, sagging back towards the runway.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate for a circuit: seven checks where the approach path is 300 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate is an instrument-approach check and does not apply. These checks are the approach's score.
The approach, gate by gate
Side view — the last 1,524 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,524 m of the 2,490 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 367 m touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The Cessna Skyhawk departed from runway 23 at EHGG Groningen Airport Eelde, using a take-off run of 361 m which represented 15 % of the available runway. Liftoff was achieved at 58 kt. Ambient conditions were 15 °C with a wind from 270° at 2 kt, providing a 2 kt head-wind component and a 1 kt cross-wind component.
During the final approach the aircraft descended from 410 ft AGL to 52 ft AGL in 42 seconds, meeting the stabilisation gate requirements.
The inbound pattern was conducted left-hand. Entry to the pattern covered less than 1 nm in 23 seconds, followed by a left-hand cross-wind segment of less than 1 nm in 17 seconds. The downwind turn spanned 1 nm with a 45° turn angle of 103.4°, after which the downwind leg extended 1 nm and was flown in 43 seconds. The base-leg turn also covered 1 nm with a 45° turn angle of 26.7° before the final approach was established.
Touch-down occurred on runway 23, whose length is 2 490 m. The threshold speed was slightly below the target at 60 kt, and the aircraft landed 365 m from the threshold at 42 kt with a vertical speed of minus 41 fpm. Alignment on touchdown was very good and the total landing roll measured 510 m, representing 20 % of the runway.
Runway rollout alignment was recorded as perfect, with the aircraft remaining on centreline throughout the deceleration phase.
Overall, the flight covered 7 nm, took 5 minutes, and consumed 2 kg of fuel.
The Cessna Skyhawk approached runway 23 at EHGG Groningen Airport Eelde, descending from 410 ft AGL to 52 ft AGL in 42 seconds and receiving a score on the stabilisation gates.
At threshold the aircraft’s speed was 60 kt, slightly below the target, while the threshold height was reported as good.
Touchdown occurred 365 m down the runway at 42 kt, with a vertical rate of minus 41 fpm described as perfect and runway-touchdown alignment very good.
The rollout covered a total of 510 m, representing 20 % of the 2 490 m runway, and runway-rollout alignment was perfect.
With a final score of 99.9 %, the landing was excellent; fine-tuning the approach speed to meet the exact threshold target will eliminate the small speed shortfall and keep performance at the highest level.
