Work on the flare
Arrive slow and the sink rate at the threshold is already above schedule, the flare is short because there is no energy to extend it, and the touchdown is hard in a way that feels exactly like a late flare. Diagnosing a slow arrival as a late flare is the catastrophic misread: you respond by flaring earlier, which bleeds more speed, which makes the next one worse. The tiebreaker is threshold speed against VRef, not feel. Never diagnose a flare without it.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
Two stabilised approach gates, each with six checks, where the approach path is 1,000 ft and 500 ft above the runway.
The approach, gate by gate
Side view — the last 1,524 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,524 m of the 3,987 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
Touched down 618 m past the threshold — beyond the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with a taxiing period from the parking to the runway, which took 9 minutes and covered a distance of 3 nautical miles. The aircraft then departed from runway 23L at Düsseldorf Airport, with a takeoff distance of 781 meters, which was 33% of the runway length. The liftoff speed was 140 knots.
The local weather conditions at the time of departure were a temperature of 6°C, with a wind speed of 10 knots at 239°. This resulted in a crosswind of 1 knot and a headwind of 10 knots. The aircraft then began its enroute climb, starting overhead Düsseldorf Airport and ascending from 1,173 feet above sea level to 31,007 feet above sea level, an increase of 29,835 feet in 16 minutes, covering a distance of 63 nautical miles.
Following the enroute climb, the aircraft entered a level cruise, starting 1 mile northwest of Wenden, Germany, and lasting 16 minutes, covering a distance of 136 nautical miles. The aircraft then began its enroute descent, starting 1 mile north of Wallhausen, Germany, and descending from 30,992 feet above sea level to 5,240 feet above sea level, a decrease of 25,752 feet in 14 minutes, covering a distance of 92 nautical miles.
The aircraft then entered another level cruise, starting 1 mile southeast of Wang, Germany, and lasting 3 minutes, covering a distance of 16 nautical miles. The aircraft then began its final descent, starting 1 mile west of Inning am Holz, Germany, and descending from 4,773 feet above sea level to 2,801 feet above sea level, a decrease of 1,971 feet in 2 minutes, covering a distance of 6 nautical miles.
The final approach to runway 26L at Munich Airport was made from the east, with a heading of 263.0° at 4 nautical miles and 1,321 feet above ground level. The landing was made on runway 26L, which had a length of 3,987 meters. The threshold height at 70 feet above ground level was well above target, and the threshold speed was slightly above target at 129 knots.
The touchdown point was 195 meters beyond the touchdown zone, with a touchdown speed of 119 knots, which was fast. The touchdown rate was fair at -220 feet per minute. The runway touchdown alignment was very good. The local weather conditions at the time of landing were a temperature of 4°C, with a wind speed of 22 knots at 250°, resulting in a crosswind of 5 knots and a headwind of 21 knots.
The total landing distance was 1,372 meters, which was 34% of the runway length. The runway rollout alignment was slightly misaligned by 10.0 meters from the centerline. The taxiing period from the runway to the parking took 5 minutes and covered a distance of less than 1 nautical mile. The total flight distance was 323 nautical miles, taking 66 minutes, and the aircraft used 1,116 kilograms of fuel.
Aircraft C750 successfully landed on runway 26L at EDDM Munich Airport, achieving a score of 87.2%. The final approach was initiated from the east, heading 263.0° at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,321 feet above ground level (agl). The aircraft successfully touched down on the runway, but with some notable deviations from the target parameters.
The threshold height at 70 feet agl was well above the target, indicating that the aircraft descended more slowly than intended. However, the threshold speed was slightly above the target at 129 knots, suggesting that the aircraft was slightly faster than desired during the final approach. The touchdown point was 195 meters beyond the touchdown zone, which is a relatively significant deviation from the target.
The touchdown speed of 119 knots was faster than the target, indicating that the aircraft may have been slightly too aggressive during the final approach. The touchdown rate of -220 feet per minute (fpm) was fair, suggesting that the aircraft's descent was relatively smooth. The runway touchdown alignment was very good, indicating that the aircraft was well-aligned with the runway during the touchdown.
The local weather conditions at the time of the landing were characterized by a temperature of 4°C and a wind speed of 22 knots from 250°. The crosswind component was relatively small at 5 knots, while the headwind component was 21 knots. These conditions may have contributed to the aircraft's slightly faster touchdown speed.
The total landing distance was 1,372 meters, which is 34% of the runway length. This is a relatively short landing distance, indicating that the aircraft was able to stop quickly after touchdown. However, the runway rollout alignment was slightly misaligned by 10.0 meters from the centerline, suggesting that the aircraft may have been slightly off-center during the rollout.
Overall, while the landing was successful, there were some notable deviations from the target parameters. The aircraft's slightly faster touchdown speed and slightly misaligned runway rollout alignment may indicate areas for improvement in the pilot's technique.
