Maintain the centreline
A small uncorrected heading error at 40 knots becomes a metre of offset per second by 100 knots, noticed only at rotation, producing a crabbed liftoff. Root cause is nearly always eyes on the tape instead of the far end of the runway. Small heading changes displace a distant point visibly long before the nearby centreline stripes look wrong.

One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out. These checks are the approach's score.

The Boeing 737 MAX 8 taxied from the parking area to runway 07R at HAAB Addis Ababa Bole International Airport in 11 minutes, covering a distance of 2 nm.
During the departure roll on runway 07R, the aircraft utilized a takeoff distance of 11,836 ft, representing 105 % of the runway length, and achieved a liftoff speed of 156 kt. Ambient conditions were a temperature of 79 °F, wind from 070° at 3 kt, with a headwind component of 3 kt and no crosswind.
The en-route climb commenced 3 mi east of HAAB, where the airplane ascended from 8,587 ft asl to 35,884 ft asl, a gain of 27,297 ft achieved in 18 minutes while covering 121 nm.
Level cruise began 13 mi west of Bichena (Amhara Region, Ethiopia) and continued for 155 minutes, during which the flight traversed 1,197 nm.
Descent operations started 16 mi east of Abu Qurqas (Muhafazat al Minya, Egypt), with the aircraft descending from 35,497 ft asl to 1,771 ft asl, a loss of 33,726 ft in 24 minutes and a distance of 127 nm.
The final approach to runway 05C at HECA Cairo International Airport involved a descent from 1,479 ft agl to 124 ft agl over 94 seconds, and the approach was scored on the stabilisation gates.
Landing on runway 05C, which is 13,290 ft long, occurred with a threshold height of 65 ft agl above target and a threshold speed slightly above target at 150 kt. Touchdown was recorded 719 ft beyond the touchdown zone, at a speed of 140 kt, with a touchdown rate of minus 198 fpm; runway-touchdown alignment was perfect. Local weather reported a temperature of 78 °F, wind from 010° at 6 kt, a crosswind component of 3 kt and a headwind component of 4 kt.
The aircraft’s rollout covered a total landing distance of 5,029 ft, representing 38 % of the runway, and the runway-rollout alignment was judged very good.
After exiting the runway, the airplane taxied to the parking area in 5 minutes, traveling 1 nm.
In total, the flight covered 1,457 nm, required 213 minutes of airborne time, and consumed 15,968 lb of fuel.
The Boeing 737 MAX 8 arrived on final approach to runway 05C at HECA Cairo International Airport with a stabilised profile at the 1,000 ft gate; gear, flaps, sink rate, glideslope, centreline and speed were all within limits. The aircraft descended from 1,479 ft AGL to 124 ft AGL in 94 seconds, meeting the stabilisation-gate criteria and contributing to the overall score of 97.2 %.
At the threshold the aircraft was 65 ft AGL, which was above the target height, and the threshold speed was slightly above the target at 150 kt.
Touchdown occurred 719 ft beyond the designated touchdown zone with a speed of 140 kt, noted as a little fast, while the vertical rate was good at minus 198 fpm and runway touchdown alignment was perfect.
The rollout covered a total landing distance of 5,029 ft, representing 38 % of the 13,290 ft runway, and runway rollout alignment was very good.
To tighten the touchdown point toward the aim point, a slight reduction in approach speed and a marginally lower flare height are recommended, which will also help bring the threshold speed closer to target without compromising safety.
