Flight Score
Know your rotation speed
A typical trainer rotates in the mid-50s of knots - a 172 at around 55 KIAS, climbing out at a Vy in the low 70s, though check your own POH rather than memorising Cessna's numbers - and the transferable rule is that Vr sits just above the stall speed in takeoff configuration. Rotate early because "it felt ready" and the aircraft lifts off inside ground effect, where induced drag is reduced, then climbs out of it into more drag. On a marginal-performance day the result is an aircraft that lifts off and then refuses to climb, sagging back towards the runway.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
Side view — the last 1,524 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,524 m of the 2,615 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
Touched down 504 m past the threshold — beyond the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with a taxiing period from the parking to the runway, which took 2 minutes and covered less than 1 nautical mile. The aircraft, a Boeing 737-600, then departed from runway 12 at FMEE Roland Garros Airport. The takeoff distance was 1,228 meters, which is 40% of the runway length. The liftoff speed was 148 knots.
As the aircraft took off, it encountered local weather conditions with a temperature of 30°C, wind at 4 knots at 70°, a crosswind of 2 knots, and a headwind of 3 knots. The enroute climb started overhead Sainte-Marie in Reunion, Réunion, where the aircraft climbed from 1,092 feet above sea level to 37,802 feet above sea level, an increase of 36,711 feet in 33 minutes, covering 167 nautical miles.
The enroute level cruise started at a latitude of -21.5858246 and a longitude of 52.6217872, lasting 186 minutes and covering 1,130 nautical miles. The enroute descent started 11 miles east of FQRS Ressano Garcia Airport in Ressano Garcia, Maputo Province, Mozambique, where the aircraft descended from 38,151 feet above sea level to 3,989 feet above sea level, a decrease of 34,162 feet in 15 minutes, covering 77 nautical miles.
The final approach to runway 05 at FAKN Kruger Mpumalanga International Airport was from the southwest, heading 34.0° at 4 nautical miles and 1,151 feet above ground level. The landing on runway 05 was successful, with a touchdown point 84 meters beyond the touchdown zone. The touchdown speed was 118 knots, which was good, and the touchdown rate was fair at -214 feet per minute. The runway touchdown alignment was very good.
The local weather conditions at the time of landing were a temperature of 26°C, wind at 4 knots at 104°, a crosswind of 3 knots, and a headwind of 1 knot. The total landing distance was 978 meters, which is 37% of the runway length. The runway rollout alignment was also very good. The taxiing period from the runway to the parking took 1 minute and covered less than 1 nautical mile.
The total flight distance was 1,380 nautical miles, taking 217 minutes, and the aircraft used 9,222 kilograms of fuel.
The Boeing 737-600 aircraft successfully landed at Kruger Mpumalanga International Airport (FAKN) on runway 05. The final approach was conducted from the south-west, heading 34.0° at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,151 feet above ground level (agl). The aircraft maintained a high level of precision throughout the approach, achieving a score of 99.0%.
Upon landing, the aircraft touched down 84 meters beyond the touchdown zone, which is a relatively minor deviation. The touchdown speed of 118 knots was within the acceptable range, indicating that the pilot had successfully managed the aircraft's descent and speed. However, the touchdown rate of -214 feet per minute (fpm) was only fair, suggesting that the pilot could have done a better job of controlling the aircraft's descent rate.
The local weather conditions at the time of landing were favorable, with a temperature of 26°C and a gentle headwind of 1 knot. The wind direction was from 104°, resulting in a crosswind component of 3 knots. Despite these conditions, the pilot maintained excellent control of the aircraft, and the runway touchdown alignment was very good.
The total landing distance of 978 meters was 37% of the runway length, which is a relatively short distance. This suggests that the pilot had successfully managed the aircraft's speed and descent rate to achieve a smooth and controlled landing. The runway rollout alignment was also very good, indicating that the pilot had maintained control of the aircraft throughout the landing roll.
Overall, the landing was a success, with the pilot demonstrating excellent skills and control of the aircraft. However, there is room for improvement in terms of managing the touchdown rate to achieve a more precise landing.
