Slow down before tight turns
Twenty knots on a monitor produces the visual sensation of about ten. The advice to "taxi at a walking pace" cannot fix this, because your sense of walking pace is exactly the thing that's broken. Put the groundspeed readout in your scan and obey it for the next fifty flights, the way a student pilot leans on the airspeed indicator before learning to read attitude.

Two stabilised approach gates, each with six checks at 1,000 ft and 500 ft above the runway.
The approach, gate by gate
Side view — the last 2,348 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 2,348 m of the 3,798 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
Touched down 651 m past the threshold — beyond the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The Boeing 777-300 taxied from the parking area to runway 27R at KATL Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport in 3 minutes, covering 1 nm.
During the departure roll on runway 27R the aircraft used 998 m of runway, representing 28 % of the available length, and lifted off at 162 kt. Ambient conditions were 35 °C with a wind of 16 kt from 220°, including a 12 kt crosswind component and a 10 kt headwind component.
The initial climb began overhead KATL, climbing from 1,926 ft asl to 36,967 ft asl, an altitude gain of 35,041 ft. The climb was completed in 16 minutes while covering 122 nm.
Level cruise commenced over KCKF Crisp County Cordele Airport and continued for 100 minutes, during which the aircraft travelled 835 nm.
A second climb segment started 51 mi southeast of East End (Cayman Islands), ascending from 36,991 ft asl to 38,772 ft asl, a gain of 1,781 ft in 2 minutes and covering 14 nm.
The next cruise phase began 65 mi south of East End and lasted another 100 minutes, during which 815 nm were flown.
Descent phase one originated 1 mi east of Retiro (Antioquia, Colombia), descending from 38,999 ft asl to 16,982 ft asl, a loss of 22,017 ft over 10 minutes while covering 71 nm.
A brief cruise segment followed 2 mi southwest of SKHO Ganadería Airport, lasting 5 minutes and spanning 28 nm.
Descent phase two began 4 mi southwest of Topaipi (Cundinamarca, Colombia), dropping from 16,997 ft asl to 9,727 ft asl, a decrease of 7,270 ft in 10 minutes and covering 42 nm.
The final approach to runway 14R at SKBO El Dorado International Airport was executed from the northwest on a heading of 127.0°, intercepting the approach at 4 nm and 1,360 ft agl.
Landing on runway 14R, which is 3,801 m long, occurred with a threshold speed of 158 kt. Touchdown was recorded 255 m beyond the touchdown zone at 146 kt, with a vertical speed of minus 182 fpm and a lateral deviation of 4.6 m from the centreline. Local weather at the time was 13 °C with a wind of 5 kt from 118°, including a 1 kt crosswind and a 5 kt headwind. The total landing distance measured 2,288 m, representing 60 % of the runway, and rollout alignment was described as very good.
After rollout, the aircraft taxied from the runway to the parking area in less than 1 minute, covering less than 1 nm.
In total, the flight covered 1,933 nm, took 250 (units as given), and consumed 28,208 kg of fuel.
The Boeing 777-300 established a final approach to runway 14R at SKBO from the north-west, tracking a heading of 127.0° at 4 nm and 1,360 ft AGL. Local temperature was 13 °C with wind 5 kt from 118°, giving a 5 kt headwind and 1 kt crosswind component. The runway length is 3,801 m.
At threshold the aircraft maintained a speed of 158 kt, which was well above the target, and the threshold height was good.
Touchdown occurred 255 m beyond the designated touchdown zone with a speed of 146 kt, described as fast, and a vertical rate of minus 182 fpm, which was good. The touchdown point was offset 4.6 m from the centreline, and the total landing distance measured 2,288 m, representing 60 % of the runway.
During rollout the aircraft remained very well aligned with the runway centreline.
Reduce the approach speed to bring the threshold speed within target limits and aim to touch down within the touchdown zone to shorten the landing roll. Align the aircraft more precisely to eliminate the 4.6 m centreline offset.
