Keep the approach speed on target
Every knot above Vref is stored kinetic energy, and energy stored at the threshold must be dissipated in ground effect before the aeroplane will stop flying. Because kinetic energy scales with the square of speed, the excess you must dissipate grows fast. At a 45-knot approach, five knots hot is over a tenth more speed and roughly a quarter more energy to get rid of in ground effect. This is why the fix is never in the flare. It was decided three miles earlier, on final, at the airspeed indicator.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
Side view — the last 1,524 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,524 m of the 1,977 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 478 m touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
Overall, your aircraft landing score of 95.7% is incredibly impressive and showcases your skill and precision as a pilot. The Approach Phase was particularly noteworthy, with excellent glideslope alignment demonstrating your ability to maintain proper altitude throughout the descent. While the speed was slightly higher than desired, this is a minor issue that can easily be corrected with practice.
Moving on to the Landing Phase, your performance was stellar with good threshold height and a perfect landing flare. Your touchdown rate was smooth and controlled, indicating a strong understanding of aircraft handling. Although your speed was slightly above target, this can be improved with practice and attention to detail. The only area for improvement in this phase is the touchdown point, which was slightly beyond the designated zone. However, with continued practice and focus, this can easily be rectified.
Finally, the Rollout Phase demonstrated strong runway alignment skills, with only a minor deviation from the centerline. This shows your ability to maintain control of the aircraft during the final phase of landing. Overall, your score of 95.7% is a testament to your proficiency as a pilot and serves as a great foundation for further improvement.
Keep up the excellent work and continue honing your skills – with dedication and practice, you have the potential to achieve even greater success in your aircraft landings. Congratulations on a job well done!
