Flight Score
Smooth the climb
A good takeoff has a defined shape. It also has a defined end. For an airliner that's thrust reduction and acceleration, commonly somewhere around 1,000 to 1,500 ft above the airfield depending on the operator, while for a light aircraft it's established at Vy with the flaps on schedule. Most simmers have no defined end to their takeoff, which is exactly why it never gets judged.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
Two stabilised approach gates, each with seven checks, where the approach path is 1,000 ft and 500 ft above the runway.

Side view — the last 1,259 m of the approach.
Plan view — the full 1,259 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 477 m touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with a departure roll from runway 12 at LFDN Rochefort-Saint-Agnant Airport, a small airfield in France. The Cessna Skyhawk aircraft took off with a takeoff distance of 393 meters, which accounted for 17% of the runway. The liftoff speed was 74 knots, and the local weather conditions at the time were characterized by a temperature of 17 degrees Celsius and a wind speed of 9 knots from a direction of 196 degrees.
As the aircraft climbed away from the airfield, it encountered a crosswind of 8 knots and a headwind of 2 knots. The enroute climb started overhead Saint-Agnant, a town in the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region of France, and continued for 19 minutes, during which the aircraft ascended from an altitude of 553 feet above sea level to 8,732 feet. This climb covered a distance of 22 nautical miles.
Following the climb, the aircraft entered a level cruise phase, which started 2 miles west of Nieul-sur-Mer, another town in the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region. This cruise phase lasted for 2 minutes and covered a distance of 3 nautical miles. However, the aircraft soon began its descent, which started 4 miles northwest of Nieul-sur-Mer. The descent from 8,489 feet to 2,192 feet took 7 minutes and covered a distance of 13 nautical miles.
The aircraft then entered another level cruise phase, this time overhead Saint-Cyr-en-Talmondais, a town in the Pays de la Loire region of France. This cruise phase lasted for 17 minutes and covered a distance of 14 nautical miles. After completing this cruise phase, the aircraft began its final approach to runway 28 at LFRI La Roche-sur-Yon Airport, which is located in the Pays de la Loire region.
The final approach was made from the east, with the aircraft heading 282.0 degrees at a distance of 4 nautical miles from the runway. The local weather conditions at the time of landing were characterized by a temperature of 14 degrees Celsius and a wind speed of 5 knots from a direction of 160 degrees. The aircraft encountered a crosswind of 4 knots and a tailwind of 3 knots during the approach.
The landing was successful, with the aircraft touching down on runway 28 at a speed of 56 knots. The touchdown distance was 474 meters, which was good, and the touchdown rate was perfect at -32 feet per minute. However, the runway touchdown position was slightly misaligned from the centerline by 7.4 meters. The total landing distance was 952 meters, which accounted for 76% of the runway.
After landing, the aircraft taxied to the parking area, which took 1 minute and covered a distance of less than 1 nautical mile. The total flight distance was 57 nautical miles, and the flight duration was 55 minutes. The aircraft used 22 kilograms of fuel during the flight.
The Cessna Skyhawk successfully landed at La Roche-sur-Yon Airport, achieving a high score of 95.5%. The aircraft approached the runway from the east, heading 282.0° at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,411 feet above ground level (agl). The pilot executed a precise final approach, ensuring a good threshold height and a touchdown speed of 56 knots, which was well within the target range.
Upon touchdown, the aircraft's touchdown distance was 474 meters, which was considered good. The touchdown rate of -32 feet per minute (fpm) was also perfect, indicating a smooth and controlled descent. However, the runway touchdown position was slightly misaligned by 7.4 meters from the centerline, which may require some adjustments in the pilot's approach technique.
The local weather conditions at the time of landing were favorable, with a temperature of 14°C and a gentle wind of 5 knots at 160°. The crosswind component was 4 knots, while the tailwind component was 3 knots. These conditions did not appear to have a significant impact on the landing, as the pilot was able to maintain control and execute a smooth touchdown.
The total landing distance was 952 meters, which accounted for 76% of the runway length. This is a relatively short landing distance, indicating that the pilot was able to bring the aircraft to a stop quickly and efficiently. However, the runway rollout alignment was slightly misaligned by 11.3 meters from the centerline, which may require some adjustments in the pilot's post-landing technique.
Overall, the Cessna Skyhawk's landing at La Roche-sur-Yon Airport was a success, with the pilot executing a precise and controlled approach and touchdown. While there were some minor deviations from the ideal landing, the pilot's skills and experience were able to compensate for these issues, resulting in a high-scoring landing.
