MY FS FLIGHTS
Flight Score
Work on the flare
Arrive slow and the sink rate at the threshold is already above schedule, the flare is short because there is no energy to extend it, and the touchdown is hard in a way that feels exactly like a late flare. Diagnosing a slow arrival as a late flare is the catastrophic misread: you respond by flaring earlier, which bleeds more speed, which makes the next one worse. The tiebreaker is threshold speed against VRef, not feel. Never diagnose a flare without it.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
Side view — the last 1,933 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,933 m of the 3,989 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
Touched down 780 m past the threshold — beyond the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with a departure roll from runway 25L at EDDB Berlin Brandenburg Airport. The Airbus A321 took off with a takeoff distance of 1,485 meters, which was 37% of the runway. The liftoff speed was 163 knots. At the time of departure, the local weather conditions were a temperature of 17 degrees Celsius, with a wind speed of 6 knots at 269 degrees. This resulted in a crosswind of 2 knots and a headwind of 5 knots.
As the aircraft climbed, it started its enroute climb 1 mile southwest of EDDB Berlin Brandenburg Airport, rising from an altitude of 1,166 feet above sea level to 23,663 feet above sea level, an increase of 22,497 feet in just 11 minutes. This climb covered a distance of 54 nautical miles. The enroute level cruise then began overhead Zerbst, Germany, and lasted for 25 minutes, covering 183 nautical miles.
The aircraft then started its enroute descent overhead Heiligenroth, Germany, and descended from 23,779 feet above sea level to 9,292 feet above sea level, a decrease of 14,487 feet in just 7 minutes. This descent covered a distance of 48 nautical miles. The enroute level cruise then started again overhead Eisenschmitt, Germany, and lasted for just 2 minutes, covering 7 nautical miles.
The aircraft then began its final descent overhead Metterich, Germany, and descended from 8,868 feet above sea level to 2,558 feet above sea level, a decrease of 6,309 feet in just 6 minutes. This descent covered a distance of 22 nautical miles. The final approach to runway 24 at ELLX Luxembourg-Findel International Airport was from the north-east, with a heading of 240 degrees at 4 nautical miles and 1,361 feet above ground level.
The landing on runway 24 at ELLX Luxembourg-Findel International Airport was successful, with a runway length of 3,989 meters. The threshold height was well above the target, and the threshold speed was slightly above the target at 142 knots. The touchdown point was 369 meters beyond the touchdown zone, and the touchdown speed was a little fast at 137 knots. However, the touchdown rate was good at -167 feet per minute. The runway touchdown position was slightly misaligned by 6.6 meters from the centreline.
The local weather conditions at the time of landing were a temperature of 18 degrees Celsius, with a wind speed of 16 knots at 320 degrees. This resulted in a crosswind of 16 knots and a headwind of 3 knots. The total landing distance was 1,857 meters, which was 47% of the runway. The runway rollout alignment was slightly misaligned by 9.0 meters from the centreline.
After landing, the aircraft taxied to the parking area from the runway, taking 4 minutes and covering less than 1 nautical mile. The total flight distance was 321 nautical miles, and the flight duration was 59 minutes. The aircraft used 270 kilograms of fuel during the flight.
The Airbus A321 aircraft successfully landed at ELLX Luxembourg-Findel International Airport, but with some minor deviations from the ideal landing parameters. The final approach was initiated from the north-east, heading 240.0° at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,361 feet above ground level (agl). The aircraft touched down on runway 24, which has a length of 3,989 meters.
The threshold height at 77 feet agl was significantly above the target, indicating that the aircraft was higher than desired when reaching the runway threshold. The threshold speed was slightly above the target at 142 knots, suggesting that the aircraft was slightly faster than required when reaching the threshold. The touchdown point was 369 meters beyond the touchdown zone, which is a relatively minor deviation.
The touchdown speed of 137 knots was a little fast, indicating that the aircraft could have benefited from a slightly gentler touchdown. However, the touchdown rate of -167 feet per minute (fpm) was good, suggesting that the aircraft was able to absorb the impact of touchdown effectively. The runway touchdown position was slightly misaligned by 6.6 meters from the centerline, which may have contributed to the slightly fast touchdown speed.
The local weather conditions at the time of landing were characterized by a temperature of 18°C and a wind speed of 16 knots from 320°. This resulted in a crosswind of 16 knots and a headwind of 3 knots. The total landing distance was 1,857 meters, which is 47% of the runway length. The runway rollout alignment was slightly misaligned by 9.0 meters from the centerline, which is a relatively minor deviation.
Overall, the landing was successful, but with some minor deviations from the ideal parameters. The aircraft's performance was affected by the wind conditions, which resulted in a slightly fast touchdown speed and a slightly misaligned runway touchdown position. However, the touchdown rate was good, and the aircraft was able to absorb the impact of touchdown effectively.
