Flight Score
Shorten the long landing
Ground effect becomes significant below about one wingspan of height. A Cessna 172, with a 36 ft span, enters ground effect at flare height - the float it feels in the hold-off is ground effect arriving on cue. An A320, with a span around 117 ft, has been in ground effect since before the threshold and there is no sudden cushion to feel, only a gradual reduction in induced drag that lengthens any float you allow.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
Two stabilised approach gates, each with seven checks, where the approach path is 1,000 ft and 500 ft above the runway. They are the approach's score: the checks passed out of the checks that ran.
The approach, gate by gate
Side view — the last 1,524 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,524 m of the 3,244 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
Touched down 681 m past the threshold — beyond the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
Departing from EDDB Berlin Brandenburg Airport, the Airbus A320 began its journey by taxiing from the parking area to the runway, a process that took 9 minutes and covered a distance of 3 nautical miles. Upon reaching runway 06R, the aircraft initiated its departure roll, accelerating down the 1,818-meter stretch of the runway, which comprised 46% of the total length. The aircraft lifted off at a speed of 168 knots, overcoming the local wind conditions of 4 knots at 319 degrees, with a crosswind of 3 knots and a tailwind of 1 knot.
As the aircraft climbed out of EDDB, it began its enroute climb, ascending from 1,133 feet above sea level to 22,012 feet, an increase of 20,879 feet in just 10 minutes, covering a distance of 53 nautical miles. The climb phase was followed by a 12-minute enroute level cruise, during which the aircraft maintained a steady altitude, covering a further 85 nautical miles. The descent phase commenced overhead Blizevedly, Czech Republic, where the aircraft began its gradual descent from 21,986 feet to 2,515 feet, a decrease of 19,471 feet in 13 minutes, covering 67 nautical miles. The aircraft then entered the final approach phase, aligning itself with runway 30 at LKPR Václav Havel Airport Prague, a 3,253-meter-long runway.
The Airbus A320 touched down on runway 30 at a speed of 136 knots, slightly above the recommended threshold speed of 139 knots. The touchdown point was 273 meters beyond the touchdown zone, and the aircraft's touchdown rate was fair at -270 feet per minute. The runway touchdown alignment was perfect, and the runway rollout alignment was also satisfactory. Following the landing, the aircraft taxied to the parking area, a process that took 2 minutes and covered less than 1 nautical mile. The total flight distance was 215 nautical miles, and the aircraft used 2,031 kilograms of fuel during the 48-minute journey.
The final approach to runway 30 at LKPR Václav Havel Airport Prague from the south east, heading 307.0 ° at 4 nm and 1,315 ft agl, was executed with good approach quality. The aircraft maintained a stable and controlled descent, with a threshold height that was well within the acceptable limits. The threshold speed was also good at 139 kt, indicating a well-coordinated and controlled approach.
As the aircraft touched down on the runway, the touchdown point was 273 m beyond the touchdown zone, which is slightly beyond the ideal location. However, the touchdown speed of 136 kt was a little fast, resulting in a touchdown rate of -270 fpm, which is fair but not ideal. Despite this, the runway touchdown alignment was perfect, with the aircraft centered on the runway. The local weather conditions, with a temperature of 18 °C and a wind of 4 kt at 329 °, contributed to a relatively calm and stable approach.
The rollout phase was executed smoothly, with the aircraft maintaining perfect centerline alignment. The total landing distance of 1,378 m, which is 42% of the runway length, was within acceptable limits. Overall, the landing was executed with a high degree of proficiency, resulting in a score of 94.5%. The minor deviations in touchdown speed and point were not significant enough to detract from the overall performance, and the aircraft was brought to a stop safely and efficiently.
