Monitor your taxi speed
Twenty knots on a monitor produces the visual sensation of about ten. The advice to "taxi at a walking pace" cannot fix this, because your sense of walking pace is exactly the thing that's broken. Put the groundspeed readout in your scan and obey it for the next fifty flights, the way a student pilot leans on the airspeed indicator before learning to read attitude.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
Side view — the last 1,524 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,524 m of the 2,980 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 232 m touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with the Airbus A321 taxiing from the parking area to the runway at Sacramento International Airport, taking approximately 8 minutes and covering a distance of 4 nautical miles. The departure roll took place on runway 35L, with the aircraft lifting off at a speed of 144 knots after covering 55% of the runway's length.
As the aircraft took to the skies, it encountered local weather conditions of 20°C temperature and a wind speed of 4 knots at 10°. The crosswind was minimal at 1 knot, while the headwind was 4 knots. The enroute climb started shortly after departure, with the aircraft ascending from 1,047 feet above sea level to 36,364 feet, an increase of 35,317 feet in 29 minutes and covering a distance of 152 nautical miles.
Following the climb, the aircraft entered a level cruise phase, which lasted for 161 minutes and covered a distance of 1,277 nautical miles. This phase took place approximately 20 miles southeast of Fallon Station in Nevada, United States. The aircraft then began its descent, starting 7 miles southeast of Haughton in Louisiana, and descended from 36,874 feet to 1,236 feet above sea level, a decrease of 35,638 feet in 34 minutes and covering a distance of 214 nautical miles.
The final approach to runway 11 at Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport was made from the west, with the aircraft heading 106.0° at an altitude of 1,218 feet above ground level and a distance of 4 nautical miles from the runway. The landing took place on a runway with a length of 2,980 meters, and the threshold height was good. The threshold speed was also satisfactory at 149 knots, while the touchdown distance was 235 meters, which was within acceptable limits.
However, the touchdown speed of 146 knots was slightly faster than desired, and the touchdown rate was hard at -467 feet per minute. The runway touchdown position was slightly misaligned from the centerline by 4.3 meters. The local weather conditions at the time of landing were 14°C temperature and a wind speed of 3 knots at 150°, with a crosswind of 2 knots and a headwind of 2 knots.
The total landing distance was 840 meters, which accounted for 28% of the runway's length. The runway rollout alignment was very good, indicating a smooth and controlled landing. The taxiing from the runway to the parking area took approximately 1 minute and covered a distance of less than 1 nautical mile. The total flight distance was 1,654 nautical miles, and the flight duration was 232 minutes. The aircraft used a total of 9,654 kilograms of fuel during the flight.
The Airbus A321 successfully landed at KMSY Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport, achieving a score of 96.6%. The aircraft approached the runway from the west, heading 106.0° at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,218 feet above ground level (agl). The final approach was executed with good control, and the aircraft landed safely on runway 11.
The runway at KMSY has a length of 2,980 meters, and the threshold height was reported as good. The threshold speed of 149 knots was also within the acceptable range. However, the touchdown speed of 146 knots was slightly faster than desired, which may have contributed to a harder touchdown rate of -467 feet per minute (fpm). This indicates that the aircraft may have touched down with a bit more force than necessary, which could potentially lead to increased wear and tear on the landing gear.
The runway touchdown position was slightly misaligned from the centerline by 4.3 meters, which may have been due to a slight deviation in the aircraft's alignment during the final approach. Despite this, the runway rollout alignment was reported as very good, indicating that the aircraft maintained its alignment and direction after touchdown.
The local weather conditions at the time of the landing were relatively calm, with a temperature of 14°C and a wind speed of 3 knots from 150°. The crosswind and headwind components were both 2 knots, which suggests that the aircraft was not significantly affected by wind during the landing. The total landing distance of 840 meters was 28% of the runway length, which is a relatively short distance and indicates that the aircraft landed smoothly and efficiently. Overall, the landing was successful, and the aircraft scored well on most aspects of the landing.
