Maintain the centreline
A small uncorrected heading error at 40 knots becomes a metre of offset per second by 100 knots, noticed only at rotation, producing a crabbed liftoff. Root cause is nearly always eyes on the tape instead of the far end of the runway. Small heading changes displace a distant point visibly long before the nearby centreline stripes look wrong.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
Side view — the last 1,524 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,524 m of the 2,380 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 472 m touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with the aircraft, an Airbus A321, taxiing from the parking area to the runway at John F Kennedy International Airport (KJFK) in New York. This process took 12 minutes and covered a distance of 3 nautical miles. The aircraft then departed from runway 13R, with a takeoff distance of 2,019 meters, which accounted for 72% of the runway. The liftoff speed was 174 knots.
As the aircraft took off, it encountered local weather conditions of 22°C temperature and a wind speed of 12 knots at 123 degrees. The crosswind was 1 knot, while the headwind was 12 knots. After departing from KJFK, the aircraft began its enroute climb, which started overhead the airport and reached an altitude of 32,654 feet above sea level. This climb, which covered a distance of 96 nautical miles, took 13 minutes and resulted in an increase of 31,619 feet in altitude.
Following the initial climb, the aircraft entered a level cruise phase, which started 15 miles east of Sea Isle City in New Jersey. This phase lasted for 3 minutes and covered a distance of 63 nautical miles. The aircraft then began another climb, this time from 32,656 feet to 36,672 feet, which took 3 minutes and covered 41 nautical miles. This climb phase started 1 mile east of Newark in Maryland.
The aircraft then entered another level cruise phase, which started 2 miles south-east of Melfa in Virginia. This phase lasted for 25 minutes and covered a distance of 617 nautical miles. As the aircraft continued its journey, it began its descent, which started 50 miles east of South Beach in Florida. This descent took 12 minutes and covered a distance of 110 nautical miles, resulting in a decrease of 30,825 feet in altitude.
After the initial descent, the aircraft entered another level cruise phase, which started 3 miles north of Pine Island Ridge in Florida. This phase lasted for 5 minutes and covered a distance of 13 nautical miles. The aircraft then began its final descent, which started 5 miles west of Weston in Florida. This descent took 4 minutes and covered a distance of 15 nautical miles, resulting in a decrease of 3,837 feet in altitude.
The aircraft then began its final approach to runway 10L at Fort Lauderdale Hollywood International Airport (KFLL), which was located to the west. The aircraft was heading at 90.0 degrees and was 4 nautical miles away from the runway at an altitude of 1,252 feet above ground level.
The aircraft landed on runway 10L, which had a length of 2,380 meters. The threshold height was good, and the threshold speed was also good at 142 knots. However, the touchdown speed was a little fast at 135 knots, and the touchdown rate was fair at -278 feet per minute. The runway touchdown alignment was perfect, and the local weather conditions were 29°C temperature and a wind speed of 11 knots at 130 degrees.
The crosswind was 7 knots, while the headwind was 8 knots. The aircraft landed 55 meters beyond the touchdown zone, and the total landing distance was 1,392 meters, which accounted for 58% of the runway. The runway rollout alignment was also perfect.
After landing, the aircraft taxiied to the parking area, which took 2 minutes and covered a distance of less than 1 nautical mile. The total flight distance was 963 nautical miles, and the flight took 79 minutes. The aircraft used 7,570 kilograms of fuel during the flight.
The Airbus A321 successfully landed at Fort Lauderdale Hollywood International Airport (KFLL) on runway 10L, achieving a score of 99.2%. The aircraft approached the runway from the west, heading 90.0° at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,252 feet above ground level (agl). The final approach was executed with good control, and the aircraft landed smoothly on the runway.
The threshold height was satisfactory, and the threshold speed was maintained at 142 knots, which is a good indicator of the pilot's control and adherence to standard operating procedures. However, the touchdown point was 55 meters beyond the designated touchdown zone, which may indicate a slight deviation from the intended landing spot. The touchdown speed of 135 knots was a bit faster than ideal, which could have contributed to the slightly longer landing distance.
The touchdown rate of -278 feet per minute (fpm) was fair, indicating a moderate rate of descent during the final stages of the approach. The runway touchdown alignment was perfect, demonstrating the pilot's skill and attention to detail. The local weather conditions, with a temperature of 29°C and winds of 11 knots at 130°, presented a moderate headwind component of 8 knots and a crosswind component of 7 knots.
The total landing distance of 1,392 meters was 58% of the available runway length, which is a relatively short distance considering the aircraft's size and weight. The runway rollout alignment was perfect, indicating that the pilot maintained control and alignment during the post-landing phase. Overall, the landing was executed with good control and adherence to standard operating procedures, resulting in a high score of 99.2%.
