Monitor your taxi speed
Twenty knots on a monitor produces the visual sensation of about ten. The advice to "taxi at a walking pace" cannot fix this, because your sense of walking pace is exactly the thing that's broken. Put the groundspeed readout in your scan and obey it for the next fifty flights, the way a student pilot leans on the airspeed indicator before learning to read attitude.

One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
Side view — the last 1,524 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,524 m of the 1,831 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 243 m touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with the aircraft taxiing from the parking area to the runway, a process that took 8 minutes and covered a distance of 4 nautical miles. The Airbus A320 then departed from runway 24L at Montreal / Pierre Elliott Trudeau International Airport, with a takeoff distance of 1,002 meters, which accounted for 34% of the runway. The liftoff speed was 159 knots.
As the aircraft took to the skies, it encountered local weather conditions of -13°C and a wind speed of 4 knots at 179°. The crosswind was 3 knots, and the headwind was also 3 knots. The enroute climb started overhead Dorval, Quebec, Canada, where the aircraft ascended from 1,157 feet above sea level to 38,063 feet above sea level, an increase of 36,906 feet in 22 minutes, covering a distance of 127 nautical miles.
The enroute level cruise began 3 miles southwest of K09 Piseco Airport in New York, United States, and lasted for 18 minutes, covering a distance of 109 nautical miles. The aircraft then started its descent from 38,460 feet above sea level to 34,152 feet above sea level, a decrease of 4,308 feet in 6 minutes, covering a distance of 31 nautical miles. This was followed by another level cruise, which started 5 miles east of Bear Creek Village in Pennsylvania, United States, and lasted for 8 minutes, covering less than 1 nautical mile.
The enroute descent then began 5 miles east of Bear Creek Village, where the aircraft descended from 34,152 feet above sea level to 1,722 feet above sea level, a decrease of 32,430 feet in 18 minutes, covering a distance of 66 nautical miles. The final approach to runway 24 at KTTN Trenton Mercer Airport was made from the north east, with a heading of 226.0° at 4 nautical miles and 1,551 feet above ground level.
The landing on runway 24 at KTTN Trenton Mercer Airport was successful, with a runway length of 1,831 meters. The threshold height was good, and the threshold speed was also good at 132 knots. The touchdown distance was good at 243 meters, and the touchdown speed was 130 knots, which was also good. However, the touchdown rate was fair at -238 feet per minute. The runway touchdown alignment was perfect, and the local weather conditions were -13°C with a wind speed of 2 knots at 250°. The crosswind was 1 knot, and the headwind was also 1 knot.
The total landing distance was 901 meters, which accounted for 49% of the runway. The runway rollout alignment was perfect. The taxiing to the parking area from the runway took 1 minute and covered less than 1 nautical mile. The total flight distance was 343 nautical miles, and the flight duration was 74 minutes. The aircraft used 3,109 kilograms of fuel during the flight.
The Airbus A320 successfully landed at KTTN Trenton Mercer Airport, demonstrating a high level of proficiency in its flight operations. The aircraft approached the runway from the north east, heading 226.0° at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,551 feet above ground level (agl). This approach was executed with precision, as evidenced by the aircraft's ability to maintain a good threshold height and speed.
Upon touchdown, the aircraft's performance was satisfactory, with a touchdown speed of 130 knots being within the acceptable range. The touchdown distance of 243 meters was also within the expected parameters, indicating that the aircraft's descent and flare were well-executed. However, the touchdown rate of -238 feet per minute (fpm) was only fair, suggesting that the aircraft may have experienced a slight bounce or oscillation upon touchdown.
Despite this minor issue, the overall landing performance of the Airbus A320 was impressive. The runway touchdown alignment was perfect, indicating that the aircraft was well-centered on the runway and aligned with the centerline. The local weather conditions, with a temperature of -13°C and a light wind of 2 knots at 250°, did not appear to have a significant impact on the landing.
The total landing distance of 901 meters, which accounted for 49% of the runway length, was also within the expected parameters. This suggests that the aircraft's brakes were applied effectively and that the rollout was smooth and controlled. The runway rollout alignment was perfect, indicating that the aircraft remained centered on the runway and aligned with the centerline throughout the rollout phase.
Overall, the Airbus A320's landing at KTTN Trenton Mercer Airport was a success, with the aircraft demonstrating a high level of proficiency in its flight operations. While there were some minor issues with the touchdown rate, the overall performance of the aircraft was satisfactory, and the landing was executed with precision and control.
