Improve the rollout
A crosswind landing is a geometry problem. The air mass you're flying in is moving sideways across the runway, and you need your ground track down the centreline with your wheels aligned to it at the moment of contact. There are two techniques that will help, the crab and the sideslip.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
Side view — the last 1,567 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,567 m of the 2,738 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 239 m touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with a taxiing period from the parking to the runway, which took 3 minutes and covered less than 1 nautical mile. The aircraft then departed from runway 17 at KVLD Valdosta Regional Airport, with a takeoff distance of 1,328 meters, which accounted for 54% of the runway. The liftoff speed was 152 knots, and the local weather conditions were characterized by a temperature of 30°C, with a wind speed of 5 knots at 100°.
As the aircraft climbed, it started 1 mile south of KVLD Valdosta Regional Airport and reached an altitude of 18,533 feet above sea level, an increase of 17,308 feet from the initial altitude of 1,226 feet. This climb took 7 minutes and covered a distance of 21 nautical miles. The enroute level cruise then began 3 miles northwest of Ray City, Georgia, and lasted for 23 minutes, covering a distance of 125 nautical miles.
The aircraft then started its descent overhead Barnesville, Georgia, and descended from 18,528 feet to 5,292 feet, a decrease of 13,237 feet in 7 minutes, covering a distance of 26 nautical miles. Another level cruise started 1 mile south of Fayetteville, Georgia, and lasted for 3 minutes, covering a distance of 13 nautical miles. The final descent began 1 mile northwest of 8A9 South Fulton Palmetto, Georgia, and descended from 4,677 feet to 2,333 feet, a decrease of 2,344 feet in 3 minutes, covering a distance of 8 nautical miles.
The final approach to runway 09R at KATL Hartsfield Jackson Atlanta International Airport was made from the west, with a heading of 95.0° at 4 nautical miles and 1,291 feet above ground level. The landing was made on runway 09R, which had a length of 2,738 meters. The threshold height was good, and the threshold speed was 132 knots. The touchdown distance was 238 meters, and the touchdown speed was 128 knots, both of which were good. However, the touchdown rate was very hard at -573 feet per minute.
The runway touchdown position was significantly misaligned by 20.6 meters from the centerline, and the runway rollout alignment was misaligned by 19.7 meters from the centerline. The local weather conditions at the time of landing were characterized by a temperature of 26°C, with a wind speed of 6 knots at 140°. The crosswind was 5 knots, and the headwind was 4 knots.
The total landing distance was 1,477 meters, which accounted for 54% of the runway. The taxiing period from the runway to the parking took 7 minutes and covered less than 1 nautical mile. The total flight distance was 200 nautical miles, and the flight duration was 50 minutes. The aircraft used 1,373 kilograms of fuel during the flight.
The CRJ900 aircraft successfully landed on runway 09R at KATL Hartsfield Jackson Atlanta International Airport, but with some notable deviations from ideal landing parameters. The aircraft scored 85.2% on its landing, indicating a good overall performance but with room for improvement.
The final approach to the runway was initiated from the west, heading 95.0° at 4 nautical miles and 1,291 feet above ground level (agl). The aircraft maintained a good threshold height, and the threshold speed was also satisfactory at 132 knots. The touchdown distance of 238 meters was within acceptable limits, and the touchdown speed of 128 knots was also good.
However, the landing was marred by a very hard touchdown rate of -573 feet per minute (fpm), which is significantly higher than the ideal rate. This could be a concern for the aircraft's safety and the comfort of its passengers. Additionally, the runway touchdown position was significantly misaligned by 20.6 meters from the centreline, which could have implications for the aircraft's braking performance and overall safety.
The local weather conditions at the time of landing were favorable, with a temperature of 26°C and a relatively light wind of 6 knots at 140°. The crosswind component was 5 knots, while the headwind component was 4 knots. These conditions would not have significantly impacted the aircraft's landing performance.
The total landing distance of 1,477 meters was 54% of the runway length, which is within acceptable limits. However, the runway rollout alignment was also misaligned by 19.7 meters from the centreline, which could be a concern for the aircraft's safety and the efficiency of its braking performance.
Overall, while the CRJ900 aircraft landed safely on runway 09R at KATL, there are areas for improvement, particularly with regards to the touchdown rate and runway alignment.
