Smooth the climb
A good takeoff has a defined shape. It also has a defined end. For an airliner that's thrust reduction and acceleration, commonly somewhere around 1,000 to 1,500 ft above the airfield depending on the operator, while for a light aircraft it's established at Vy with the flaps on schedule. Most simmers have no defined end to their takeoff, which is exactly why it never gets judged.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
Side view — the last 727 m of the approach.
Plan view — the full 727 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 88 m touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with a taxiing period from the parking to the runway, which took 10 minutes and covered a distance of 1 nautical mile. The aircraft, a Cessna C172, then departed from runway 16 at LIRU Rome Urbe Airport. The takeoff distance was 579 meters, which is 80% of the runway length. The liftoff speed was 69 knots.
The local weather conditions at the time of takeoff were characterized by a temperature of 8 degrees Celsius, with a wind speed of 4 knots at a direction of 5 degrees. This resulted in a crosswind of 2 knots and a tailwind of 3 knots. The aircraft then began its enroute level cruise, starting 1 mile south of LIRU Rome Urbe Airport and lasting less than 1 minute, covering a distance of less than 1 nautical mile.
The aircraft then began its enroute climb, rising from an altitude of 662 feet above sea level to 2,094 feet above sea level, an increase of 1,432 feet in 2 minutes, covering a distance of 2 nautical miles. This climb phase was followed by another enroute level cruise, which started 1 mile northeast of LIRU Rome Urbe Airport and lasted 34 minutes, covering a distance of 48 nautical miles.
The aircraft then began another enroute climb, rising from an altitude of 2,513 feet above sea level to 3,392 feet above sea level, an increase of 879 feet in 2 minutes, covering a distance of 3 nautical miles. This climb phase was followed by another enroute level cruise, which started 1 mile northwest of Castiglione in Teverina and lasted 26 minutes, covering a distance of 43 nautical miles.
The aircraft then began its enroute descent, starting 2 miles southwest of Monterotondo and descending from an altitude of 2,442 feet above sea level to 1,454 feet above sea level, a decrease of 987 feet in 2 minutes, covering a distance of 3 nautical miles. This descent phase was followed by another enroute level cruise, which started 4 miles south of Mentana and lasted 7 minutes, covering a distance of 5 nautical miles.
The final approach to runway 34 at LIRU Rome Urbe Airport was made from the south, with a heading of 341.0 degrees at an altitude of 443 feet above ground level, 1 nautical mile from the runway. The landing was made on runway 34, which has a length of 727 meters. The threshold height was good, and the threshold speed was also good at 59 knots.
The touchdown distance was good at 85 meters, and the touchdown speed was 55 knots, which was also good. The touchdown rate was good at -198 feet per minute, and the runway touchdown alignment was very good. The local weather conditions at the time of landing were characterized by a temperature of 9 degrees Celsius, with a wind speed of 3 knots at a direction of 350 degrees. This resulted in a crosswind of 1 knot and a headwind of 3 knots.
The total landing distance was 348 meters, which is 48% of the runway length. The runway rollout alignment was perfect. The taxiing period from the runway to the parking took 2 minutes and covered a distance of less than 1 nautical mile. The total flight distance was 109 nautical miles, and the flight duration was 83 minutes. The aircraft used 31 kilograms of fuel during the flight.
The Cessna C172 aircraft successfully landed at LIRU Rome Urbe Airport, achieving a high score of 97.7%. The final approach to runway 34 was conducted from the south, with the aircraft heading 341.0° at 1 nautical mile and 443 feet above ground level (agl). The pilot demonstrated excellent control and precision, resulting in a good threshold height and a threshold speed of 59 knots.
Upon touchdown, the aircraft performed well, with a touchdown distance of 85 meters, which is within the acceptable range. The touchdown speed of 55 knots was also good, indicating a smooth and controlled landing. The touchdown rate of -198 feet per minute (fpm) was within the normal range, further emphasizing the pilot's skill and control.
The local weather conditions at the time of landing were favorable, with a temperature of 9°C and a gentle wind of 3 knots at 350°. The crosswind component was minimal at 1 knot, while the headwind component was 3 knots, which helped to stabilize the aircraft during the landing. The total landing distance of 348 meters was 48% of the runway length, indicating a safe and controlled landing.
The runway rollout alignment was perfect, demonstrating the pilot's ability to maintain control and stability during the critical phase of the landing. Overall, the landing was a success, with the pilot demonstrating excellent skills and control throughout the approach and landing phases.
