Improve the taxi
Twenty knots on a monitor produces the visual sensation of about ten. The advice to "taxi at a walking pace" cannot fix this, because your sense of walking pace is exactly the thing that's broken. Put the groundspeed readout in your scan and obey it for the next fifty flights, the way a student pilot leans on the airspeed indicator before learning to read attitude.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
Side view — the last 1,604 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,604 m of the 3,082 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 494 m touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with a taxiing period from the parking to the runway, which took 10 minutes and covered a distance of 2 nautical miles. The aircraft, Vueling EC-MGZ, then departed from runway 10 at LEAL Alicante-Elche Miguel Hernández Airport, a Spanish airport. The takeoff distance was 1,718 meters, which accounted for 58% of the runway. The liftoff speed was 158 knots.
The local weather conditions at the time of departure were characterized by a temperature of 16 degrees Celsius and a wind speed of 6 knots from a direction of 10 degrees. There was no headwind, but a crosswind of 6 knots was present. The aircraft began its enroute climb shortly after departure, starting 1 mile east of the airport and climbing from an altitude of 1,051 feet above sea level to 33,656 feet above sea level. This climb phase lasted 19 minutes and covered a distance of 115 nautical miles.
Following the initial climb, the aircraft entered a level cruise phase, which started 24 miles east of Oropesa del Mar in the Comunitat Valenciana region of Spain. This cruise phase lasted 84 minutes and covered a distance of 585 nautical miles. The aircraft then began its enroute descent, starting 2 miles west of Bonneuil-les-Eaux in the Hauts-de-France region of France. The descent phase lasted 18 minutes and covered a distance of 108 nautical miles, during which the aircraft descended from an altitude of 32,808 feet above sea level to 5,908 feet above sea level.
The aircraft then entered another level cruise phase, this time starting overhead Kobbegem in the Flanders region of Belgium. This cruise phase lasted only 4 minutes and covered a distance of 18 nautical miles. The aircraft then began its final descent, starting overhead Tremelo in the Flanders region of Belgium. The descent phase lasted 6 minutes and covered a distance of 6 nautical miles, during which the aircraft descended from an altitude of 5,915 feet above sea level to 1,479 feet above sea level.
The final approach to runway 25L at EBBR Brussels Airport was made from the east, with the aircraft heading 250.0 degrees at an altitude of 1,317 feet above ground level and a distance of 4 nautical miles from the runway. The landing was made on runway 25L, which had a length of 3,082 meters. The threshold height was good, and the threshold speed was also good at 139 knots. The touchdown point was 76 meters beyond the touchdown zone, and the touchdown speed was 133 knots, which was good. However, the touchdown rate was fair at -240 feet per minute.
The total landing distance was 1,521 meters, which accounted for 49% of the runway. The runway rollout alignment was perfect. The taxiing period from the runway to the parking took 7 minutes and covered a distance of less than 1 nautical mile. The total flight distance was 842 nautical miles, and the flight duration was 150 minutes. The aircraft used a total of 5,664 kilograms of fuel during the flight.
A Vueling aircraft, registered as EC-MGZ, successfully landed at Brussels Airport (EBBR) on runway 25L. The aircraft's final approach was from the east, heading 250.0° at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,317 feet above ground level (agl). The pilot demonstrated excellent control and precision, achieving a score of 99.5%.
Upon landing, the aircraft touched down at a speed of 133 knots, which was within the acceptable threshold speed of 139 knots. The touchdown point was 76 meters beyond the designated touchdown zone, indicating a slight overrun but still within a safe margin. The touchdown rate of -240 feet per minute (fpm) was considered fair, suggesting a slightly steeper descent than ideal.
The local weather conditions at the time of landing were characterized by a temperature of -4°C and a wind speed of 0 knots from a direction of 103°. This resulted in a negligible crosswind and headwind, making the landing conditions relatively calm. The runway length of 3,082 meters provided ample space for the aircraft to land and roll out safely.
The total landing distance of 1,521 meters was 49% of the available runway length, indicating a relatively short landing roll. The runway rollout alignment was perfect, suggesting that the pilot maintained control and alignment throughout the landing process. Overall, the landing was considered successful, with the pilot demonstrating good control and precision in challenging weather conditions.
