MY FS FLIGHTS
Flight Score
Work on the flare
Arrive slow and the sink rate at the threshold is already above schedule, the flare is short because there is no energy to extend it, and the touchdown is hard in a way that feels exactly like a late flare. Diagnosing a slow arrival as a late flare is the catastrophic misread: you respond by flaring earlier, which bleeds more speed, which makes the next one worse. The tiebreaker is threshold speed against VRef, not feel. Never diagnose a flare without it.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
The approach, gate by gate
Side view — the last 2,004 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 2,004 m of the 3,286 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
Touched down 556 m past the threshold — beyond the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with the Airbus A319 taxiing from the parking area to the runway at SBMQ Macapá - Alberto Alcolumbre International Airport, taking approximately 4 minutes to cover less than 1 nautical mile. The departure roll took place on runway 08, with the aircraft lifting off after a takeoff distance of 1,244 meters, which accounted for 59% of the runway. The liftoff speed was 138 knots.
As the aircraft climbed, it started enroute climb 1 mile north east of Macapá, ascending from 1,050 feet above sea level to 38,502 feet above sea level, an increase of 37,452 feet in 23 minutes, covering 151 nautical miles. The local weather conditions at the time of takeoff were characterized by a temperature of 26 °C, with a wind speed of 4 knots at 310 °.
Following the enroute climb, the aircraft entered a level cruise phase, starting 12 miles north of SBDX Ponta de Pedras Airstrip Barcarena. This phase lasted for 105 minutes, covering a distance of 768 nautical miles. The aircraft then began its enroute descent, starting 27 miles north of SWNQ Niquelândia Airport Niquelândia, descending from 38,414 feet above sea level to 5,464 feet above sea level, a decrease of 32,951 feet in 21 minutes, covering 117 nautical miles.
The aircraft then entered another level cruise phase, starting 10 miles west of SBBR Presidente Juscelino Kubitschek International Airport Brasília, lasting for 2 minutes and covering 5 nautical miles. The final approach to runway 11R at SBBR Presidente Juscelino Kubitschek International Airport was made from the west, heading 86.0 ° at 4 nautical miles and 1,307 feet above ground level.
The landing took place on runway 11R, which had a length of 3,286 meters. The threshold height at 59 feet above ground level was slightly above the target, and the threshold speed was also slightly above the target at 132 knots. The touchdown point was 134 meters beyond the touchdown zone, with a touchdown speed of 123 knots, which was a little fast. The touchdown rate was hard at -448 feet per minute, but the runway touchdown alignment was perfect.
The local weather conditions at the time of landing were characterized by a temperature of 21 °C, with a wind speed of 4 knots at 80 °. The crosswind was 0 knots, and the headwind was 4 knots. The total landing distance was 1,918 meters, accounting for 58% of the runway. The runway rollout alignment was very good.
After landing, the aircraft taxiied to the parking area, taking approximately 2 minutes to cover less than 1 nautical mile. The total flight distance was 1,049 nautical miles, taking 161 minutes, and the aircraft used 5,909 kilograms of fuel.
The Airbus A319 successfully landed at SBBR Presidente Juscelino Kubitschek International Airport, achieving a score of 90.9%. The aircraft approached the runway from the west, heading 86.0° at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,307 feet above ground level (agl). The final approach was made to runway 11R, which has a length of 3,286 meters.
Upon landing, the aircraft touched down slightly beyond the touchdown zone, 134 meters past the designated area. The touchdown speed of 123 knots was a bit faster than the target speed, indicating that the pilot may have needed to apply more braking force to slow down the aircraft. The touchdown rate was also quite steep, at -448 feet per minute (fpm), which is considered hard. However, the runway touchdown alignment was perfect, indicating that the aircraft was properly aligned with the runway.
The local weather conditions at the time of landing were favorable, with a temperature of 21°C and a gentle headwind of 4 knots at 80°. The crosswind was negligible, at 0 knots. These conditions likely contributed to the smooth landing and good runway rollout alignment.
The total landing distance of 1,918 meters was 58% of the runway length, which is a relatively short distance considering the aircraft's size and weight. The runway rollout alignment was very good, indicating that the pilot maintained control of the aircraft during the rollout phase and was able to bring it to a stop safely.
Overall, the landing was successful, but there were some areas for improvement, such as the touchdown speed and rate. However, the pilot's skills and the aircraft's performance were sufficient to ensure a safe and controlled landing.
