MY FS FLIGHTS
Flight Score
Slow down before tight turns
Twenty knots on a monitor produces the visual sensation of about ten. The advice to "taxi at a walking pace" cannot fix this, because your sense of walking pace is exactly the thing that's broken. Put the groundspeed readout in your scan and obey it for the next fifty flights, the way a student pilot leans on the airspeed indicator before learning to read attitude.

One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
Side view — the last 1,524 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,524 m of the 1,999 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
Touched down 523 m past the threshold — beyond the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with a taxiing period from the parking to the runway, which took 7 minutes and covered a distance of 2 nautical miles. The aircraft, a Boeing 737-800, then departed from runway 01L at ENGM Oslo Airport, Gardermoen. The takeoff distance was 1,461 meters, which accounted for 41% of the runway. The liftoff speed was 163 knots.
The local weather conditions at the time of departure were characterized by a temperature of 0 degrees Celsius, with a wind speed of 3 knots at a direction of 30 degrees. This resulted in a crosswind of 1 knot and a headwind of 2 knots. The aircraft then began its enroute climb, which started overhead Gardermoen in the Viken region of Norway. The climb took 14 minutes and covered a distance of 117 nautical miles, during which the aircraft ascended from an altitude of 1,687 feet above sea level to 33,826 feet above sea level, an increase of 32,140 feet.
Following the enroute climb, the aircraft entered a level cruise phase, which began 19 miles south east of Tolga in the Innlandet region of Norway. This phase lasted for 25 minutes and covered a distance of 360 nautical miles. The aircraft then began its enroute descent, which started 14 miles south west of Kjopsvik in the Nordland Fylke region of Norway. The descent took 20 minutes and covered a distance of 120 nautical miles, during which the aircraft descended from an altitude of 33,884 feet above sea level to 1,724 feet above sea level, a decrease of 32,159 feet.
The final approach to runway 36 at ENTC Tromsø Airport, Langnes was made from the south, with a heading of 13.0 degrees at an altitude of 1,680 feet above ground level and a distance of 4 nautical miles from the runway. The landing was made on runway 36, which had a length of 1,999 meters. The threshold height was good, and the threshold speed was well above the target speed at 161 knots.
The touchdown point was 113 meters beyond the touchdown zone, and the touchdown speed was 153 knots, which was a little fast. The touchdown rate was firm at -337 feet per minute. The runway touchdown alignment was very good, and the runway rollout alignment was also very good. The local weather conditions at the time of landing were characterized by a temperature of 1 degree Celsius, with a wind speed of 0 knots at a direction of 154 degrees. This resulted in a crosswind of 0 knots and a headwind of 0 knots.
The total landing distance was 1,259 meters, which accounted for 63% of the runway. The taxiing period from the runway to the parking took 3 minutes and covered a distance of less than 1 nautical mile. The total flight distance was 605 nautical miles, and the flight duration was 69 minutes. The aircraft used a total of 4,389 kilograms of fuel during the flight.
The Boeing 737-800 aircraft successfully landed at ENTC Tromsø Airport, Langnes, with a score of 95.1%. The final approach was conducted from the south, heading 13.0° at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,680 feet above ground level (agl). The aircraft was on a steady course for a smooth landing on runway 36, which has a length of 1,999 meters.
Upon touchdown, the threshold height was reported as good, indicating that the aircraft was at the correct height as it approached the runway. However, the threshold speed was above the target speed of 161 knots, which may have been due to the aircraft's descent rate or the pilot's decision to flare the aircraft slightly earlier than expected. The touchdown point was 113 meters beyond the touchdown zone, which is a relatively minor deviation.
The touchdown speed of 153 knots was slightly faster than the target speed, which may have resulted in a firmer touchdown rate. The touchdown rate of -337 feet per minute (fpm) was indeed firm, but this is not necessarily a cause for concern, as it is within the acceptable range for a Boeing 737-800. The runway touchdown alignment was very good, indicating that the aircraft was aligned with the runway centerline at the moment of touchdown.
The local weather conditions at the time of landing were calm, with a temperature of 1°C and a wind speed of 0 knots. There was no crosswind or headwind component, which made the landing conditions ideal. The total landing distance of 1,259 meters was 63% of the runway length, which is a relatively short distance considering the aircraft's size and weight.
During the rollout, the aircraft's alignment with the runway centerline was very good, indicating that the pilots maintained control of the aircraft and avoided any significant deviations. Overall, the landing was successful, and the aircraft came to a stop within a reasonable distance from the runway threshold.
