Maintain the centreline
A small uncorrected heading error at 40 knots becomes a metre of offset per second by 100 knots, noticed only at rotation, producing a crabbed liftoff. Root cause is nearly always eyes on the tape instead of the far end of the runway. Small heading changes displace a distant point visibly long before the nearby centreline stripes look wrong.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 152 m above the runway. The 305 m gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
Side view — the last 1,524 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,524 m of the 2,741 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
Touched down 557 m past the threshold — beyond the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with a taxiing period from the parking to the runway, which took 14 minutes and covered a distance of 3 nautical miles. The aircraft, an Airbus A320, departed from runway 24L at Montreal / Pierre Elliott Trudeau International Airport. The takeoff distance was 1,179 meters, which is 40% of the runway length. The liftoff speed was 164 knots, and the local weather conditions were characterized by a temperature of -5°C and a wind speed of 0 knots at 0 degrees.
As the aircraft climbed to a higher altitude, it began its enroute climb from an initial altitude of 354 meters above sea level to a final altitude of 10,973 meters above sea level. This climb, which started overhead Dorval, Quebec, Canada, covered a distance of 83 nautical miles and took 17 minutes. The aircraft then entered a level cruise phase, which lasted for 2 minutes and covered a distance of 13 nautical miles, starting overhead CHF2 Ottawa / Manotick (Hope Field) in Ontario, Canada.
The enroute descent phase began 4 miles east of Carleton Place, Ontario, Canada, and lasted for 38 minutes. During this phase, the aircraft descended from an altitude of 10,972 meters above sea level to 576 meters above sea level, covering a distance of 172 nautical miles. The final approach to runway 24L at Toronto Lester B. Pearson International Airport was made from the north-east, with a heading of 227.0 degrees at an altitude of 406.6 meters above ground level and a distance of 4 nautical miles from the runway.
The landing on runway 24L was successful, with a touchdown speed of 120 knots and a smooth touchdown rate of -0.7 meters per second. However, the touchdown point was 135 meters beyond the touchdown zone, and the runway touchdown position was misaligned by 10.1 meters from the centreline. The local weather conditions remained the same, with a temperature of -5°C and a wind speed of 0 knots at 0 degrees.
After landing, the aircraft taxied to the parking area, which took 7 minutes and covered a distance of less than 1 nautical mile. The total flight distance was 278 nautical miles, and the flight duration was 76 minutes. The aircraft used a total of 2,407 kilograms of fuel during the flight.
The Airbus A320 successfully landed on runway 24L at CYYZ Toronto Lester B. Pearson International Airport, achieving a score of 93.6%. The aircraft approached the runway from the north east, heading 227.0° at an altitude of 406.6 meters above ground level (agl) and 4 nautical miles from the runway.
The final approach was executed at a height slightly above the target threshold height of 18.0 meters agl. The aircraft touched down at a speed of 128 knots, which was slightly below the target speed. However, the touchdown speed of 120 knots was within the acceptable range, indicating a smooth and controlled descent. The touchdown rate of -0.7 meters per second was also smooth, suggesting a well-executed landing.
The touchdown point was located 135 meters beyond the touchdown zone, which may indicate a slight over-shooting of the target. The runway touchdown position was also misaligned by 10.1 meters from the centerline, which could be attributed to a slight deviation in the aircraft's alignment during the final approach.
The local weather conditions were favorable for the landing, with a temperature of -5°C and no wind. The crosswind, headwind, and tailwind were all zero knots, indicating a calm and stable atmosphere.
The total landing distance of 1,109 meters was 40% of the runway length, which is within the acceptable range. However, the runway rollout alignment was slightly misaligned by 8.9 meters from the centerline, which may indicate a slight deviation in the aircraft's alignment during the rollout phase.
Overall, the landing was executed smoothly and within the acceptable parameters, with the aircraft achieving a score of 93.6%. However, there were some minor deviations in the aircraft's alignment and touchdown point, which could be addressed in future training exercises to improve the landing performance.
