MY FS FLIGHTS
Flight Score
Reduce your height at the threshold
Even a modest height error carries straight through to the touchdown. Geometry alone says that crossing the threshold 10 feet high on a 3° path moves your touchdown roughly 190 feet further down the runway before the flare adds anything.

Two stabilised approach gates, each with seven checks, where the approach path is 1,000 ft and 500 ft above the runway. They are the approach's score: the checks passed out of the checks that ran.
The approach, gate by gate
Side view — the last 7,970 ft of the approach.
Plan view — the first 7,970 ft of the 11,109 ft runway, to the same scale as the side view.
Touched down 2,727 ft past the threshold — beyond the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The Boeing 777-300ER taxied from the parking area to runway 14 at VGHS Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in 8 minutes, covering 2 nm.
During the departure roll on runway 14, the aircraft used 7,322 ft of runway (70 % of the available length) and lifted off at 187 kt; ambient temperature was 97 °F with a wind of 2 kt from 060°, providing a 2 kt cross-wind and no head-wind component.
Climb began 1 nm southeast of VGHS, where the airplane rose from 990 ft asl to 35,984 ft asl, an increase of 34,994 ft achieved in 19 minutes while covering 130 nm.
The first cruise segment started 1 nm south of Barasat (West Bengal, India) and continued for 211 minutes, during which the aircraft flew 1,725 nm at level altitude.
A secondary climb was initiated 14 nm south of FM04 Gulf of Oman Moving Carrier - CVN78, raising the aircraft from 35,995 ft asl to 37,995 ft asl, a gain of 2,000 ft in 3 minutes over a distance of 27 nm.
The subsequent cruise leg commenced 28 nm west of FM04 Gulf of Oman Moving Carrier - CVN78 and lasted 55 minutes, covering 451 nm at constant altitude.
Descent started 9 nm north of OEAA Abu Ali Airport Al Jubail, with the airplane descending from 37,990 ft asl to 3,005 ft asl, a loss of 34,984 ft in 22 minutes while traveling 122 nm.
A brief cruise segment followed 4 nm south of Al Ahmadi (Kuwait), lasting 2 minutes and spanning 4 nm.
The next descent began 1 nm west of Al Ahmadi, dropping from 2,823 ft asl to 1,528 ft asl, a decrease of 1,296 ft in 2 minutes and covering 5 nm.
On final approach to runway 33L at OKKK Kuwait International, the aircraft descended from 1,443 ft agl to 134 ft agl in 89 seconds and was scored on the stabilisation gates.
Landing on runway 33L (length 11,109 ft) occurred with a threshold height of 78 ft agl above target and a threshold speed of 150 kt slightly above target; touchdown was 1,400 ft beyond the touchdown zone at 142 kt, with a vertical speed of minus 180 fpm and a lateral deviation of 24 ft from the centreline. Local weather reported a temperature of 95 °F, wind 2 kt from 030°, a 1 kt cross-wind and a 1 kt head-wind component.
The total landing roll measured 7,743 ft, representing 70 % of the runway, and the rollout alignment was recorded as very good.
The aircraft taxied from the runway to the parking area in 4 minutes, covering less than 1 nm.
In total, the flight covered 2,476 nm, lasted 329 minutes, and consumed 89,213 lbs of fuel.
The approach to runway 33L at OKKK Kuwait Intl was assessed as stabilised at the 1,000 ft gate, with gear, flaps, sink rate, glideslope, centreline and speed all within limits; the aircraft descended from 1,443 ft agl to 134 ft agl in 89 seconds and met the stabilisation gates.
During the threshold and flare phase the threshold height of 78 ft agl was reported as well above target and the threshold speed of 150 kt was noted as slightly above target.
Touchdown occurred 1,400 ft beyond the touchdown zone with a speed of 142 kt described as a little fast; the vertical rate was minus 180 fpm and the touchdown point was slightly misaligned by 24 ft from the centreline.
Rollout used 7,743 ft of runway, representing 70 % of the 11,109-ft runway, and the runway rollout alignment was very good.
Reduce the touchdown point to within the designated zone by refining flare timing to achieve a more precise aim point, and trim the approach speed to meet the target VREF to eliminate the slight excess speed at touchdown.
