MY FS FLIGHTS
Flight Score
Work on the flare
Arrive slow and the sink rate at the threshold is already above schedule, the flare is short because there is no energy to extend it, and the touchdown is hard in a way that feels exactly like a late flare. Diagnosing a slow arrival as a late flare is the catastrophic misread: you respond by flaring earlier, which bleeds more speed, which makes the next one worse. The tiebreaker is threshold speed against VRef, not feel. Never diagnose a flare without it.

Two stabilised approach gates, each with five checks, where the approach path is 1,000 ft and 500 ft above the runway.
At the 1,000 ft gate: sink rate above what the glideslope needed.
The approach, gate by gate
Side view — the last 1,652 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,652 m of the 3,536 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
Touched down 538 m past the threshold — beyond the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with the Airbus A321 taxiing from the parking area to the runway at EKCH Copenhagen Kastrup Airport, a process that took 12 minutes and covered a distance of 7 nautical miles. The aircraft then departed from runway 04R, with a takeoff distance of 1,696 meters, which accounted for 51% of the runway. The liftoff speed was 178 knots.
As the aircraft climbed out of Copenhagen, it encountered local weather conditions of 3°C temperature and a wind speed of 22 knots at 50°. The crosswind was 3 knots, while the headwind was 22 knots. The enroute climb started overhead the airport, with the aircraft ascending from 856 feet above sea level to 34,889 feet, an increase of 34,033 feet in 20 minutes, covering a distance of 126 nautical miles.
The enroute level cruise began 2 miles northeast of Lubmin, Germany, and lasted for 129 minutes, covering a distance of 944 nautical miles. The aircraft then started its descent 5 miles northeast of Babaeski, Turkey, and descended from 34,979 feet to 11,070 feet, a decrease of 23,908 feet in 19 minutes, covering a distance of 126 nautical miles.
The enroute level cruise resumed 14 miles north of Agva, Turkey, and lasted for 7 minutes, covering a distance of 29 nautical miles. The aircraft then began its descent 4 miles south of Kandira, Turkey, and descended from 11,006 feet to 4,095 feet, a decrease of 6,911 feet in 7 minutes, covering a distance of 27 nautical miles.
The enroute level cruise started again 9 miles west of Cat, Turkey, and lasted for 2 minutes, covering a distance of 5 nautical miles. The aircraft then began its descent 9 miles north of Gebze, Turkey, and descended from 3,439 feet to 1,905 feet, a decrease of 1,534 feet in 2 minutes, covering a distance of 4 nautical miles.
The final approach to runway 24L at LTFJ Istanbul Sabiha Gökçen International Airport was made from the northeast, with the aircraft heading 244.0° at 4 nautical miles and 1,590 feet above ground level. The landing was made on the runway, which had a length of 3,536 meters. The threshold height was slightly above the target, but the threshold speed was good at 140 knots.
The touchdown point was 121 meters beyond the touchdown zone, with a touchdown speed of 136 knots, which was a little fast. The touchdown rate was hard at -441 feet per minute. The runway touchdown position was slightly misaligned by 5.3 meters from the centerline. The local weather conditions at the time of landing were 11°C temperature and a wind speed of 5 knots at 340°, with a crosswind of 5 knots and a tailwind of 1 knot.
The total landing distance was 1,571 meters, which accounted for 44% of the runway. The runway rollout alignment was very good. The taxiing to the parking area from the runway took 14 minutes and covered a distance of 1 nautical mile. The total flight distance was 1,274 nautical miles, with a total flight time of 209 minutes and a fuel consumption of 8,353 kilograms.
The Airbus A321 aircraft successfully landed at LTFJ Istanbul Sabiha Gökçen International Airport, with a score of 94.2%. The final approach to runway 24L was initiated from the north east, heading 244.0° at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,590 feet above ground level (agl). The aircraft's approach was characterized by a slightly above-target threshold height of 55 feet agl, but a good threshold speed of 140 knots.
Upon touchdown, the aircraft landed 121 meters beyond the designated touchdown zone, with a touchdown speed of 136 knots, which was slightly faster than the target speed. The touchdown rate was also hard, at -441 feet per minute (fpm). Additionally, the runway touchdown position was slightly misaligned from the centerline by 5.3 meters.
The local weather conditions at the time of landing were relatively calm, with a temperature of 11°C and a wind speed of 5 knots from 340°. The crosswind component was 5 knots, while the tailwind component was 1 knot. Despite these conditions, the aircraft's landing distance was 1,571 meters, which accounted for 44% of the runway length.
One notable aspect of the landing was the runway rollout alignment, which was very good. This suggests that the aircraft's brakes were applied effectively and the pilots maintained control of the aircraft during the rollout phase. Overall, while there were some minor deviations from the target parameters, the Airbus A321 aircraft landed safely and efficiently at LTFJ Istanbul Sabiha Gökçen International Airport.
