Flight Score
Smooth the climb
A good takeoff has a defined shape. It also has a defined end. For an airliner that's thrust reduction and acceleration, commonly somewhere around 1,000 to 1,500 ft above the airfield depending on the operator, while for a light aircraft it's established at Vy with the flaps on schedule. Most simmers have no defined end to their takeoff, which is exactly why it never gets judged.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
Side view — the last 756 m of the approach.
Plan view — the full 756 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 45 m touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with a departure roll from runway 30 at MYXE Lee Stocking Island. The aircraft, a DHC-2 Beaver, accelerated down the runway, covering a distance of 218 meters, which accounted for 22% of the runway's length. The liftoff speed was achieved at 57 knots, marking the start of the aircraft's ascent into the air.
As the aircraft gained altitude, it entered a level cruise phase, which lasted for 11 minutes and covered a distance of 14 nautical miles. This phase of the flight began approximately 1 mile northwest of MYXE Lee Stocking Island, situated in the Exuma District of the Bahamas. The local weather conditions during this time were characterized by a temperature of 24 degrees Celsius and a wind speed of 4 knots from a direction of 239 degrees.
Upon completing the cruise phase, the aircraft began its final approach to runway 01 at MYE3 Farmer's Cay. The approach was initiated from the south, with the aircraft heading 2.0 degrees at an altitude of 462 feet above ground level (agl) and a distance of 1 nautical mile from the runway. The landing was executed on a runway with a length of 756 meters, and the threshold height was reported to be good.
The touchdown speed was slightly higher than expected at 68 knots, resulting in a hard touchdown rate of -517 feet per minute. However, the runway touchdown position was only slightly misaligned from the centerline by 3.9 meters. The total landing distance covered 53% of the runway's length, amounting to 402 meters. The runway rollout alignment was reported to be very good.
In conclusion, the flight was completed with a total distance of 17 nautical miles, taking 19 minutes to cover this distance. Notably, the aircraft used no fuel during the flight, indicating an extremely efficient operation.
The DHC-2 Beaver aircraft successfully landed on runway 01 at MYE3 Farmer's Cay, achieving a score of 91.4%. The final approach was conducted from the south, with a heading of 2.0° at 1 nautical mile and 462 feet above ground level (agl). The pilot demonstrated good control and precision during the approach, resulting in a good threshold height and a threshold speed of 71 knots.
Upon touchdown, the aircraft's performance was satisfactory, with a touchdown distance of 44 meters. However, the touchdown speed of 68 knots was slightly faster than expected, indicating that the pilot may have been able to flare the aircraft more effectively to achieve a smoother touchdown. The touchdown rate was particularly hard, at -517 feet per minute (fpm), which may have resulted in a bumpy ride for the passengers.
The runway touchdown position was slightly misaligned from the centreline, by 3.9 meters. This may have been due to a slight deviation in the pilot's alignment during the approach or a minor issue with the aircraft's directional control. Despite this, the pilot was able to maintain good control during the rollout, with the aircraft remaining aligned with the runway centreline.
The local weather conditions at the time of the landing were favorable, with a temperature of 24°C and a light wind of 4 knots from 239°. The crosswind component was minimal, at 3 knots, and the tailwind component was even weaker, at 2 knots. The total landing distance of 402 meters was 53% of the runway length, indicating that the pilot had sufficient runway remaining to safely stop the aircraft.
Overall, the landing was successful, with the pilot demonstrating good control and precision during the approach and rollout. However, there were some minor issues with the touchdown speed and rate, as well as the runway touchdown position. With some adjustments to the pilot's technique, these issues can be addressed to achieve an even smoother and more controlled landing.
