MY FS FLIGHTS
Flight Score
Work on the flare
Arrive slow and the sink rate at the threshold is already above schedule, the flare is short because there is no energy to extend it, and the touchdown is hard in a way that feels exactly like a late flare. Diagnosing a slow arrival as a late flare is the catastrophic misread: you respond by flaring earlier, which bleeds more speed, which makes the next one worse. The tiebreaker is threshold speed against VRef, not feel. Never diagnose a flare without it.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
Side view — the last 1,714 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,714 m of the 3,501 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
Touched down 801 m past the threshold — beyond the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with a taxiing period from the parking to the runway, which took 7 minutes and covered a distance of 2 nautical miles. The aircraft, a Boeing 737-800, then departed from runway 16L at Seattle–Tacoma International Airport (KSEA). The takeoff distance was 1,349 meters, which accounted for 37% of the runway. The liftoff speed was 163 knots.
As the aircraft took to the skies, it encountered local weather conditions of 6°C temperature and a wind speed of 2 knots at 160 degrees. The crosswind was 1 knot, while the headwind was 2 knots. The enroute climb started 1 mile south east of Normandy Park, Washington, and the aircraft climbed from 1,290 feet above sea level to 32,958 feet above sea level, an increase of 31,668 feet in 21 minutes, covering a distance of 132 nautical miles.
The enroute level cruise began 7 miles south west of WA00 Mercer Ranch Airport Alderdale, Washington, and lasted for 264 minutes, covering a distance of 2,077 nautical miles. The aircraft then started its enroute descent 54 miles north west of Rio Lagartos, Mexico, and descended from 33,004 feet above sea level to 2,005 feet above sea level, a decrease of 30,998 feet in 23 minutes, covering a distance of 115 nautical miles.
The enroute level cruise was restarted 12 miles north east of Leona Vicario, Mexico, and lasted for 3 minutes, covering a distance of 9 nautical miles. The final approach to runway 12R at MMUN Aeropuerto Internacional de Cancún was made from the north west, heading 124.0 degrees at 4 nautical miles and 1,208 feet above ground level.
The landing on runway 12R was successful, with a touchdown point 386 meters beyond the touchdown zone. The touchdown speed was 126 knots, which was good, and the touchdown rate was -183 feet per minute, also good. The runway touchdown alignment was very good. The local weather conditions at the time of landing were 15°C temperature and a wind speed of 1 knot at 270 degrees, with a crosswind of 1 knot and a tailwind of 1 knot.
The total landing distance was 1,634 meters, which accounted for 47% of the runway. However, the runway rollout alignment was slightly misaligned by 7.9 meters from the centreline. The taxiing period from the runway to the parking took 1 minute and covered less than 1 nautical mile. The total flight distance was 2,341 nautical miles, taking 319 minutes, and the aircraft used 14,282 kilograms of fuel.
The Boeing 737-800 aircraft successfully landed at MMUN Aeropuerto Internacional de Cancún, achieving a score of 90.2%. The final approach to runway 12R was initiated from the north-west, with a heading of 124.0° at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,208 feet above ground level (agl). The aircraft maintained a good alignment with the runway during the approach, ultimately landing on the designated runway.
The touchdown point was located 386 meters beyond the touchdown zone, which is slightly off-center but still within an acceptable range. The threshold speed was slightly below the target speed of 130 knots, but the touchdown speed of 126 knots was still considered good. The touchdown rate of -183 feet per minute (fpm) was also within the acceptable range, indicating a smooth and controlled descent.
The local weather conditions at the time of landing were favorable, with a temperature of 15°C and a wind speed of 1 knot from a direction of 270°. This resulted in a negligible crosswind and tailwind component, which contributed to a stable and controlled approach. The total landing distance of 1,634 meters was 47% of the runway length, indicating a relatively short landing distance.
However, there was a slight deviation in the runway rollout alignment, with the aircraft being 7.9 meters off-centerline. This minor misalignment may be attributed to the pilot's response to the landing conditions or the aircraft's handling characteristics. Overall, the landing was considered successful, with the aircraft demonstrating good control and stability throughout the approach and touchdown phases.
