Maintain the centreline
A small uncorrected heading error at 40 knots becomes a metre of offset per second by 100 knots, noticed only at rotation, producing a crabbed liftoff. Root cause is nearly always eyes on the tape instead of the far end of the runway. Small heading changes displace a distant point visibly long before the nearby centreline stripes look wrong.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
The approach, gate by gate
Side view — the last 1,524 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,524 m of the 3,286 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 450 m touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with the aircraft, an Airbus A319, taxiing from the parking area to the runway at SBTE Senador Petrônio Portela Airport. This process took approximately 3 minutes and covered a distance of less than 1 nautical mile. The departure roll took place on runway 20, with the aircraft lifting off after covering 56% of the runway's length. The takeoff distance was 1,239 meters, and the liftoff speed was 141 knots.
As the aircraft climbed to a higher altitude, it encountered local weather conditions of 30°C temperature and winds of 8 knots at 160 degrees. The crosswind was 2 knots, and the headwind was 7 knots. The enroute climb started approximately 1 mile northeast of Timon, Maranhao, Brazil, and reached an altitude of 37,211 feet above sea level. This climb, which covered a distance of 119 nautical miles, took 19 minutes and involved an increase of 35,951 feet in altitude.
Following the climb, the aircraft entered a level cruise phase, which started 9 miles southwest of SNGD Guadalupe Airport Guadalupe, Piaui, Brazil. This phase lasted for 77 minutes and covered a distance of 514 nautical miles. The aircraft then began its descent, which started 22 miles north of SWNQ Niquelândia Airport Niquelândia, Goias, Brazil. The descent took 21 minutes and covered a distance of 112 nautical miles, with the aircraft decreasing its altitude from 37,351 feet to 5,368 feet above sea level.
The aircraft then entered another level cruise phase, which started 9 miles west of SBBR Presidente Juscelino Kubitschek International Airport Brasília, Federal District, Brazil. This phase lasted for only 2 minutes and covered a distance of 5 nautical miles. The final approach to runway 11R at SBBR Presidente Juscelino Kubitschek International Airport was made from the west, with the aircraft heading 86.0 degrees at an altitude of 1,307 feet above ground level and a distance of 4 nautical miles from the runway.
The landing took place on runway 11R, which had a length of 3,286 meters. The threshold height was good, and the threshold speed was 132 knots. The touchdown distance was 449 meters, and the touchdown speed was 120 knots. However, the touchdown rate was very hard at -507 feet per minute. The runway touchdown position was slightly misaligned by 4.0 meters from the centerline. Local weather conditions at the time of landing were 19°C temperature and winds of 17 knots at 89 degrees. The crosswind was 1 knot, and the headwind was 17 knots.
The total landing distance was 1,376 meters, which was 42% of the runway's length. The runway rollout alignment was very good. The aircraft then taxied to the parking area from the runway, taking approximately 2 minutes and covering a distance of less than 1 nautical mile. The total flight distance was 758 nautical miles, and the flight duration was 129 minutes. The aircraft used 4,690 kilograms of fuel during the flight.
The Airbus A319 successfully landed at SBBR Presidente Juscelino Kubitschek International Airport, achieving a high score of 95.6%. The aircraft approached the runway from the west, heading 86.0° at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,307 feet above ground level (agl). The pilot executed a precise final approach, ensuring a good threshold height and speed of 132 knots upon touchdown.
Upon landing, the aircraft touched down on runway 11R, which has a length of 3,286 meters. The touchdown distance of 449 meters was within acceptable limits, and the touchdown speed of 120 knots was also satisfactory. However, the touchdown rate was quite hard, at -507 feet per minute (fpm), which may indicate a slightly aggressive approach.
Despite the hard touchdown rate, the runway touchdown position was only slightly misaligned from the centerline by 4.0 meters. The local weather conditions at the time of landing were favorable, with a temperature of 19°C and a headwind of 17 knots. The crosswind was minimal, at 1 knot, which contributed to a smooth landing.
The total landing distance of 1,376 meters was 42% of the runway length, which is a relatively short distance. The runway rollout alignment was excellent, indicating that the pilot maintained control of the aircraft during the rollout phase. Overall, the landing was successful, and the pilot's skills and experience were evident in the execution of the approach and landing.
