Improve the rollout
A crosswind landing is a geometry problem. The air mass you're flying in is moving sideways across the runway, and you need your ground track down the centreline with your wheels aligned to it at the moment of contact. There are two techniques that will help, the crab and the sideslip.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
Side view — the last 1,524 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,524 m of the 1,808 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 267 m touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight on the Li-2 Aeroflot USSR-69318 departed from LROD Oradea, with a taxi time of 8 minutes covering less than 1 nm. The departure roll was from runway 01, with a takeoff distance of 680m, which accounted for 38% of the runway length. The liftoff speed was 78 kn. The local weather conditions at the time of departure were a temperature of 16°C with a wind speed of 8 kn coming from 323°, resulting in a crosswind of 5 kn and a headwind of 5 kn.
The enroute climb began overhead Oradea, climbing from 1,029 ft asl to 5,172 ft asl in 5 minutes, covering a distance of 10 nm. The enroute level cruise phase started 1 mile northwest of Sannicolau Roman and lasted 16 minutes, covering 37 nm. The descent phase commenced 1 mile northeast of Santana, descending from 4,332 ft asl to 3,272 ft asl in 2 minutes, covering 6 nm. Another enroute level cruise phase began 1 mile west of LRSI Aerodromul Charlie Bravo Siria Siria, lasting 8 minutes and covering 9 nm.
The landing took place on runway 27 at LRAR Arad, with a runway length of 1,808 m. The height at the threshold was 29 ft agl, and the speed at the threshold was 68 kn. The touchdown occurred 265 m from the threshold at a speed of 60 kn, with a VSI of -173 ft/m. The total landing distance was 1,074 m, accounting for 59% of the runway length. The local weather conditions at the time of landing were a temperature of 15°C with a wind speed of 8 kn coming from 323°, resulting in a crosswind of 6 kn and a headwind of 5 kn.
After landing, the taxiing from the runway to the parking area took 3 minutes, covering less than 1 nm. The total flight distance was 72 nm, with a total flight time of 55 minutes. The flight consumed 159 kg of fuel.
Great job on achieving a landing score of 94.7%! Let's break down each phase of the landing to see where you excelled and where there might be room for improvement.
In the Approach Phase, your glideslope alignment was excellent, which indicates a high level of precision in descending towards the runway. Your speed was slightly below target, which is not a major issue but something to keep in mind for future landings. Overall, a strong start to the landing process.
Moving on to the Landing Phase, you maintained a good threshold height and executed a perfect landing flare. This shows that you were able to control the aircraft's descent right up to the moment of touchdown, which is crucial for a smooth landing. Excellent work in this phase.
When it comes to the Touchdown Phase, your touchdown rate was good and your speed was on target. Landing within the touchdown zone and achieving a touchdown position just 5.3 meters from the centerline is impressive. However, keep in mind that a more precise touchdown point can further improve your overall landing performance.
Finally, in the Rollout Phase, your runway alignment was 13.8 meters from the centerline. While this is within an acceptable range, striving for even closer alignment can enhance the overall landing accuracy.
Overall, your landing performance was excellent, with strong execution in each phase of the landing process. By maintaining focus on areas like speed control, touchdown precision, and runway alignment, you can continue to improve and achieve even higher landing scores in the future. Keep up the great work!
