Work on the flare
See Arrival Landing
Arrive slow and the sink rate at the threshold is already above schedule, the flare is short because there is no energy to extend it, and the touchdown is hard in a way that feels exactly like a late flare. Diagnosing a slow arrival as a late flare is the catastrophic misread: you respond by flaring earlier, which bleeds more speed, which makes the next one worse. The tiebreaker is threshold speed against VRef, not feel. Never diagnose a flare without it.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: seven checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
At the 500 ft gate: no landing flap set.
The approach, gate by gate
Side view — the last 1,524 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,524 m of the 3,990 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 498 m touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
Departure from Reichelsheim Airfield (EDFB) commenced with a roll on runway 18, utilizing 354 meters, or 29% of the available runway length, to achieve liftoff at a speed of 82 knots. The aircraft then transitioned to a climb, departing the airfield and ascending to a higher altitude. The enroute climb phase began overhead Florstadt, where the aircraft climbed from 1,250 feet above sea level to 1,626 feet, a vertical gain of 376 feet, within a minute and covering a distance of 2 nautical miles.
Following the climb, the aircraft entered a level cruise phase, maintaining a steady altitude and airspeed as it traversed the enroute airspace. This phase lasted for 7 minutes, during which the aircraft covered a distance of 17 nautical miles. The cruise phase concluded overhead Florstadt Airport, where the aircraft prepared for the final approach to Frankfurt Airport (EDDF). The approach was initiated from the east, with the aircraft descending from 2 nautical miles away and 466 feet above ground level, heading towards runway 25C.
The landing on runway 25C was executed with a touchdown point 61 meters beyond the designated touchdown zone, resulting in a total landing distance of 811 meters, or 20% of the available runway length. The touchdown speed of 73 knots was within acceptable limits, while the touchdown rate of -384 feet per minute was firm. However, the runway touchdown position was slightly misaligned from the centerline by 5.9 meters, and the runway rollout alignment was also slightly off by 10 meters. The aircraft utilized 7 kilograms of fuel for the 22-nautical-mile flight, which lasted 11 minutes.
The Bonanza G36 touched down on runway 25C at EDDF Frankfurt Airport, a 3,990-meter-long runway, after a final approach from the east. The aircraft's descent was characterized by a slightly high threshold height, exceeding the target by 75 feet above ground level. This was accompanied by a threshold speed of 94 knots, which was above the desired value.
Despite these initial deviations, the touchdown was executed well, with a speed of 73 knots and a firm touchdown rate of -384 feet per minute. However, the touchdown point was located 61 meters beyond the designated touchdown zone. The runway touchdown position was also slightly misaligned, deviating by 5.9 meters from the centerline. The local weather conditions, with a temperature of 13 degrees Celsius and a crosswind of 12 knots, may have contributed to these deviations.
The Bonanza G36's rollout phase was also marked by a slight misalignment, deviating by 10 meters from the centerline. The total landing distance of 811 meters, which accounted for 20% of the runway length, was within acceptable limits. Overall, the landing performance of the Bonanza G36 scored 84.5%, reflecting a good but not exceptional execution of the landing.
