MY FS FLIGHTS
Flight Score
Smooth the climb
A good takeoff has a defined shape. It also has a defined end. For an airliner that's thrust reduction and acceleration, commonly somewhere around 1,000 to 1,500 ft above the airfield depending on the operator, while for a light aircraft it's established at Vy with the flaps on schedule. Most simmers have no defined end to their takeoff, which is exactly why it never gets judged.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
Side view — the last 1,524 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,524 m of the 2,360 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 258 m touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with a departure roll from runway 33 at ESVI Vindeln Airport, where the aircraft, a PC-12, took off with a takeoff distance of 358 meters, which accounted for 53% of the runway. The liftoff speed was 91 knots. At the time of departure, the local weather conditions were quite cold, with a temperature of -19 degrees Celsius, and a moderate headwind of 6 knots from a direction of 340 degrees.
As the aircraft climbed away from the airport, it began its enroute climb, which started overhead ESVI Vindeln Airport. The climb was steep, with the aircraft ascending from 1,029 feet above sea level to 13,314 feet above sea level, an increase of 12,285 feet, in just 4 minutes. This climb phase covered a distance of 28 nautical miles. The aircraft then leveled off and entered a cruise phase, which lasted for 20 minutes and covered a distance of 198 nautical miles.
After the cruise phase, the aircraft began its enroute descent, which started 5 miles west of Skogn, Norway. The descent was from 13,255 feet above sea level to 1,262 feet above sea level, a decrease of 11,993 feet, in 12 minutes. This descent phase covered a distance of 18 nautical miles. The aircraft then began its final approach to runway 09 at ENVA Trondheim Airport, Værnes, from the west, heading 90 degrees.
The final approach was made with a good threshold height, and the threshold speed was also good at 83 knots. The touchdown distance was good at 257 meters, which accounted for 25% of the runway. However, the touchdown speed was a little fast at 77 knots. The touchdown rate was smooth at -100 feet per minute, and the runway touchdown alignment was perfect. The local weather conditions at the time of landing were slightly warmer, with a temperature of -5 degrees Celsius, and a moderate headwind of 6 knots from a direction of 90 degrees.
After landing, the aircraft taxied to the parking area from the runway, which took just 1 minute and covered a distance of less than 1 nautical mile. The total flight distance was 248 nautical miles, and the flight duration was 41 minutes. The aircraft used a total of 312 kilograms of fuel during the flight.
The PC-12 aircraft successfully landed at ENVA Trondheim Airport, Værnes, with a flawless performance. The final approach to runway 09 was initiated from the west, heading 90.0° at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,212 feet above ground level (agl). The aircraft demonstrated excellent control and precision as it descended onto the runway.
Upon touchdown, the aircraft's threshold speed was recorded at 83 knots, which is considered good. The touchdown distance of 257 meters was also within acceptable limits, indicating a smooth and controlled landing. However, the touchdown speed of 77 knots was slightly higher than desired, suggesting that the pilot may have been able to maintain a more optimal speed during the approach.
The landing rate of -100 feet per minute (fpm) was smooth and well-controlled, indicating that the pilot was able to manage the aircraft's descent effectively. The runway touchdown alignment was perfect, with the aircraft aligning itself precisely with the centerline of the runway.
The local weather conditions at the time of the landing were characterized by a temperature of -5°C and a wind speed of 6 knots from a direction of 90°. This resulted in a negligible crosswind component and a headwind of 6 knots, which was effectively managed by the pilot.
The total landing distance of 600 meters was only 25% of the runway length, indicating that the pilot was able to bring the aircraft to a stop quickly and efficiently. The runway rollout alignment was also perfect, with the aircraft maintaining its alignment with the centerline of the runway throughout the rollout phase.
Overall, the PC-12 aircraft's landing at ENVA Trondheim Airport, Værnes, was a textbook example of a well-executed and controlled landing. The pilot's skills and experience were evident in the aircraft's smooth and precise performance, and the landing was a testament to the capabilities of the PC-12 aircraft.
