Slow down before tight turns
Twenty knots on a monitor produces the visual sensation of about ten. The advice to "taxi at a walking pace" cannot fix this, because your sense of walking pace is exactly the thing that's broken. Put the groundspeed readout in your scan and obey it for the next fifty flights, the way a student pilot leans on the airspeed indicator before learning to read attitude.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
Two stabilised approach gates, each with seven checks, where the approach path is 305 m and 152 m above the runway.
The approach, gate by gate
Side view — the last 1,524 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,524 m of the 2,379 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 226 m touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight departed from Milan Malpensa International Airport, taxiing from the parking area to the runway 35R took 13 minutes and covered 3 nautical miles. The aircraft then began its departure roll, accelerating down the 1,047-meter takeoff distance, which represented 35% of the runway. Liftoff speed was achieved at 143 knots, and the aircraft climbed away from the airport, benefiting from a 19-knot headwind.
As the aircraft transitioned to the enroute climb phase, it began to ascend from 535 meters above sea level to 10,014 meters, an increase of 9,479.2 meters in 14 minutes, covering 81 nautical miles. The climb phase was followed by a level cruise, which lasted 18 minutes and covered 116 nautical miles, 2 miles north-east of La Cretaz-Roisan. The aircraft then began its descent, reducing altitude from 10,096 meters to 2,150 meters in 23 minutes, covering 110 nautical miles, and initiating a second level cruise phase 2 miles south-east of Connantre. The flight continued with multiple level cruise and descent phases, with the final descent initiated 1 mile south of Nesles-la-Montagne, reducing altitude from 1,618 meters to 1,469 meters in 2 minutes, covering 7 nautical miles. The aircraft then began its final approach to runway 30 at Paris-Beauvais Airport, touching down at 135 knots and a touchdown distance of 223 meters.
The landing was successful, with a total landing distance of 1,079 meters, representing 45% of the runway. Runway rollout alignment was very good, and the aircraft taxied to the parking area in 2 minutes, covering less than 1 nautical mile. The total flight distance was 397 nautical miles, taking 90 minutes, and the aircraft used 3,078 kilograms of fuel. Local weather conditions at the destination airport were characterized by a temperature of 9°C and a 6-knot headwind.
The Boeing 737-800 touched down on runway 30 at LFOB Paris-Beauvais Airport with a firm touchdown rate of -1.6 m/s, slightly above the target speed of 135 kt. The aircraft's approach quality was excellent, with a good threshold height and a threshold speed that was only marginally above the target at 138 kt. The touchdown distance of 223 m was well within acceptable limits, and the aircraft's centreline alignment was perfect, indicating a high degree of pilot skill and control.
As the aircraft began its rollout, it maintained a very good alignment with the centreline, demonstrating a high level of control and precision. The total landing distance of 1,079 m was 45% of the runway length, which is a respectable figure considering the local weather conditions. The wind was blowing at 6 kt from 310°, resulting in a 1 kt crosswind and a 6 kt headwind, which had a minimal impact on the landing.
Overall, the landing was a success, with a score of 98.6%. The pilot's performance was impressive, with a good approach, a firm but controlled touchdown, and a smooth rollout. The aircraft's handling and performance were also noteworthy, with a good response to the pilot's inputs and a stable flight path throughout the landing.
