MY FS FLIGHTS
Flight Score
Know your rotation speed
A typical trainer rotates in the mid-50s of knots - a 172 at around 55 KIAS, climbing out at a Vy in the low 70s, though check your own POH rather than memorising Cessna's numbers - and the transferable rule is that Vr sits just above the stall speed in takeoff configuration. Rotate early because "it felt ready" and the aircraft lifts off inside ground effect, where induced drag is reduced, then climbs out of it into more drag. On a marginal-performance day the result is an aircraft that lifts off and then refuses to climb, sagging back towards the runway.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
Side view — the last 1,524 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,524 m of the 3,297 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 412 m touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with a departure roll from runway 30 at Karpathos Airport (LGKP). The TBM 850 aircraft took off with a takeoff distance of 340 meters, which is 16% of the runway length. The liftoff speed was 103 knots. At the time of departure, the local weather conditions were a temperature of 16 degrees Celsius, with a wind speed of 9 knots from a direction of 300 degrees. This resulted in a crosswind of 1 knot and a headwind of 9 knots.
As the aircraft climbed away from the airport, it began its enroute climb 1 mile northwest of LGKP. The aircraft climbed from an altitude of 696 feet above sea level to 2,541 feet, an increase of 1,845 feet in just 1 minute, while covering a distance of 3 nautical miles. This was followed by a level cruise that lasted 4 minutes and covered 12 nautical miles, 4 miles west of Karpathos.
The aircraft then began another enroute climb 4 miles southeast of Olymbos, climbing from 2,381 feet to 2,986 feet, an increase of 605 feet in 2 minutes, while covering 7 nautical miles. This was followed by another level cruise that lasted 4 minutes and covered 15 nautical miles, 8 miles east of Olymbos.
The aircraft continued its enroute climb 9 miles west of Kattavia, climbing from 2,977 feet to 3,704 feet, an increase of 727 feet in 2 minutes, while covering 7 nautical miles. This was followed by another level cruise that lasted 4 minutes and covered 15 nautical miles, 6 miles northwest of Kattavia.
As the aircraft approached its destination, it began its enroute descent 1 mile north of Emponas, descending from 3,975 feet to 1,332 feet, a decrease of 2,643 feet in 3 minutes, while covering 10 nautical miles.
The final approach to runway 06 at Diagoras Airport (LGRP) was made from the southwest, heading 69.0 degrees at 4 nautical miles and 1,314 feet above ground level. The landing was made on runway 06, which has a length of 3,297 meters. The threshold height was good, but the threshold speed was too high at 85 knots.
The touchdown distance was good at 411 meters, but the touchdown speed was a little fast at 72 knots. The touchdown rate was fair at -278 feet per minute. The runway touchdown alignment was very good. At the time of landing, the local weather conditions were a temperature of 16 degrees Celsius, with a wind speed of 9 knots from a direction of 300 degrees. This resulted in a crosswind of 7 knots and a tailwind of 6 knots.
The total landing distance was 631 meters, which is 19% of the runway length. The runway rollout alignment was perfect. The taxiing to the parking from the runway took 17 minutes and covered 1 nautical mile.
The total flight distance was 76 nautical miles, taking 36 minutes, and the aircraft used 92 kilograms of fuel.
The TBM 850 aircraft successfully landed at LGRP Diagoras Airport, achieving a high score of 97.9%. The final approach was conducted from the southwest, heading 69.0° at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,314 feet above ground level (agl). The aircraft landed on runway 06, which has a length of 3,297 meters.
The threshold height was reported as good, indicating that the aircraft was at the correct height as it approached the runway threshold. However, the threshold speed was too high at 85 knots, suggesting that the pilot may have been able to reduce the speed further before touchdown. The touchdown distance was good at 411 meters, indicating that the aircraft was able to touch down within a reasonable distance from the runway threshold.
The touchdown speed of 72 knots was a little fast, which may have resulted in a slightly higher touchdown rate of -278 feet per minute (fpm). Despite this, the runway touchdown alignment was very good, indicating that the aircraft was aligned with the runway centerline at touchdown.
The local weather conditions at the time of landing were characterized by a temperature of 16°C and a wind speed of 9 knots from a direction of 300°. The crosswind component was 7 knots, while the tailwind component was 6 knots. These conditions may have contributed to the slightly high touchdown speed.
The total landing distance was 631 meters, which is equivalent to 19% of the runway length. This is a relatively short landing distance, indicating that the aircraft was able to touch down and come to a stop within a short distance. The runway rollout alignment was perfect, indicating that the aircraft was aligned with the runway centerline throughout the rollout phase.
Overall, the landing was successful, and the aircraft was able to touch down and come to a stop within a short distance. However, there were some areas for improvement, including reducing the threshold speed and touchdown speed.
