Improve the rollout
Ground control varies with speed, full authority at walking pace, progressively reducing as groundspeed rises. The aircraft becomes twitchy at any speed, every small pedal input swings the nose, which can encourage large-amplitude leg inputs that no real aircraft would accept.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
Side view — the last 5,000 ft of the approach.
Plan view — the first 5,000 ft of the 9,316 ft runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 1,010 ft touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with the Airbus A321 taxiing from the parking area to the runway at KFAR Hector International Airport, a process that took less than a minute and covered a distance of less than a nautical mile. The departure roll took place on runway 18, with the aircraft lifting off the ground after traveling just 108 feet, which accounted for only 1% of the runway's length. The liftoff speed was 170 knots, and the local temperature was a pleasant 77 degrees Fahrenheit.
As the aircraft climbed away from the airport, it began its enroute climb, which started approximately one mile northwest of Fargo, North Dakota. The climb took the aircraft from an altitude of 1,867 feet above sea level to 33,996 feet, an increase of 32,129 feet, over a distance of 143 nautical miles and a duration of 24 minutes. Following this climb, the aircraft entered a level cruise phase, which began three miles southwest of Bryant, South Dakota, and lasted for 65 minutes, covering a distance of 502 nautical miles.
The aircraft then began its enroute descent, which started eight miles west of Longdale, Oklahoma. The descent took the aircraft from an altitude of 33,988 feet to 33,046 feet, a decrease of 942 feet, over a distance of 13 nautical miles and a duration of just two minutes. However, this descent was short-lived, as the aircraft soon began another climb, this time from 33,118 feet to 34,000 feet, an increase of 882 feet, over a distance of 13 nautical miles and a duration of two minutes.
The aircraft then entered another level cruise phase, which began two miles southwest of Thomas, Oklahoma, and lasted for just five minutes, covering a distance of 42 nautical miles. However, this cruise phase was also short-lived, as the aircraft soon began its final descent, which started seven miles east of KHBR Hobart Regional Airport in Hobart, Oklahoma. The descent took the aircraft from an altitude of 33,999 feet to 1,827 feet, a decrease of 32,172 feet, over a distance of 152 nautical miles and a duration of 32 minutes.
Following this descent, the aircraft entered a brief level cruise phase, which began one mile north of Southlake, Texas, and lasted for just three minutes, covering a distance of less than a nautical mile. The aircraft then began its final approach to runway 13R at KDFW Dallas Fort Worth International Airport, which it approached from the northwest, heading 139.0 degrees at an altitude of 1,255 feet above ground level and a distance of four nautical miles from the runway.
The aircraft landed safely on runway 13R, which had a length of 9,316 feet. The touchdown speed was 134 knots, and the touchdown distance was 1,020 feet, both of which were considered good. However, the touchdown rate was hard, at -402 feet per minute, and the runway touchdown alignment was very good. The local temperature was again 77 degrees Fahrenheit.
Following the landing, the aircraft taxied to the parking area, a process that took 11 minutes and covered a distance of one nautical mile. The total flight distance was 873 nautical miles, and the flight used 15,066 pounds of fuel.
The Airbus A321 aircraft successfully landed on runway 13R at KDFW Dallas Fort Worth International Airport, achieving a score of 89.7%. The final approach was initiated from the northwest, heading 139.0° at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,255 feet above ground level (agl).
The aircraft demonstrated good control during the approach, with a threshold height that met the required standards. The threshold speed was also satisfactory at 145 knots, indicating a smooth and controlled descent. Upon touchdown, the aircraft's touchdown distance was within acceptable limits at 1,020 feet, and the touchdown speed of 134 knots was also within the desired range.
However, the touchdown rate was slightly harder than desired at -402 feet per minute (fpm), which may indicate a slightly steeper descent than intended. Despite this, the runway touchdown alignment was very good, suggesting that the aircraft was well-controlled and aligned with the runway centerline.
The local weather conditions at the time of landing were favorable, with a temperature of 77°F. The total landing distance of 4,333 feet was within 47% of the runway length, which is a reasonable distance considering the aircraft's size and weight.
One area for improvement was noted during the rollout phase, where the aircraft's alignment was misaligned by 74 feet from the centerline. This may indicate a slight deviation in the aircraft's direction during the rollout phase, which could be addressed through further training or adjustments to the aircraft's configuration.
Overall, the landing was successful, and the aircraft demonstrated good control and handling characteristics. However, there are opportunities for improvement, particularly in terms of touchdown rate and rollout alignment.
