MY FS FLIGHTS
Flight Score
Slow down before tight turns
Twenty knots on a monitor produces the visual sensation of about ten. The advice to "taxi at a walking pace" cannot fix this, because your sense of walking pace is exactly the thing that's broken. Put the groundspeed readout in your scan and obey it for the next fifty flights, the way a student pilot leans on the airspeed indicator before learning to read attitude.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
Side view — the last 1,646 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,646 m of the 2,863 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
Touched down 560 m past the threshold — beyond the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with the aircraft, an Airbus A321, taxiing from the parking area to the runway at KDEN Denver International Airport. This process took 8 minutes and covered a distance of 3 nautical miles. The departure roll took place on runway 34L, with the aircraft lifting off after a takeoff distance of 1,660 meters, which was 34% of the runway length. The liftoff speed was 155 knots.
As the aircraft climbed, it started 2 miles northwest of KDEN Denver International Airport and reached an altitude of 34,772 feet above sea level, an increase of 28,446 feet from the initial altitude of 6,326 feet. This climb took 10 minutes and covered a distance of 111 nautical miles. The local weather conditions at the time of departure were characterized by a temperature of -7°C, with no wind.
After reaching the cruising altitude, the aircraft entered a level cruise phase, which started 8 miles south of CO22 Hildebrandt Airport Bethune. This phase lasted for 34 minutes and covered a distance of 551 nautical miles. The aircraft then began its descent, starting 5 miles north of 1TE9 Rmr Ranch Airport Franklin. The descent took 17 minutes and covered a distance of 102 nautical miles, with the aircraft decreasing its altitude from 34,994 feet to 1,377 feet above sea level.
The final approach to runway 26L at KIAH George Bush Intercontinental Houston Airport was made from the east, with the aircraft heading 270.0° at an altitude of 1,276 feet above ground level and a distance of 4 nautical miles from the runway. The landing took place on runway 26L, which had a length of 2,863 meters. The threshold height was good, and the threshold speed was also satisfactory at 138 knots.
The touchdown point was 143 meters beyond the touchdown zone, with a touchdown speed of 130 knots and a touchdown rate of -192 feet per minute, both of which were considered good. However, the runway touchdown position was slightly misaligned from the centerline by 8.4 meters. The local weather conditions at the time of landing were characterized by a temperature of 23°C, with a wind speed of 9 knots from 201°. The crosswind was 8 knots, and the headwind was 3 knots.
The total landing distance was 1,565 meters, which was 55% of the runway length. The runway rollout alignment was also slightly misaligned from the centerline by 8.0 meters. After landing, the aircraft taxiied to the parking area, taking 2 minutes and covering a distance of less than 1 nautical mile. The total flight distance was 774 nautical miles, and the flight duration was 70 minutes. The aircraft used 4,626 kilograms of fuel during the flight.
The Airbus A321 aircraft successfully landed on runway 26L at KIAH George Bush Intercontinental Houston Airport, achieving a score of 94.9%. The final approach to the runway was initiated from the east, heading 270.0° at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,276 feet above ground level (agl).
The aircraft touched down on the runway with a speed of 130 kn, which was within the acceptable threshold speed of 138 kn. The touchdown point was located 143 meters beyond the touchdown zone, indicating a slight overrun. However, the touchdown rate of -192 fpm was considered good, suggesting a controlled descent.
The local weather conditions at the time of landing were favorable, with a temperature of 23°C and a wind speed of 9 kn from a direction of 201°. The crosswind component was 8 kn, while the headwind component was 3 kn. These conditions did not appear to have a significant impact on the landing.
The total landing distance of 1,565 meters was 55% of the available runway length, which is a relatively short distance. However, the runway rollout alignment was slightly misaligned by 8.0 meters from the centerline, indicating a minor deviation from the desired path.
Overall, the landing was considered successful, with the aircraft achieving a good touchdown speed and rate, and a relatively short landing distance. However, the slight overrun and misaligned rollout alignment suggest areas for improvement in future landings.
