Maintain the centreline
A small uncorrected heading error at 40 knots becomes a metre of offset per second by 100 knots, noticed only at rotation, producing a crabbed liftoff. Root cause is nearly always eyes on the tape instead of the far end of the runway. Small heading changes displace a distant point visibly long before the nearby centreline stripes look wrong.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
Side view — the last 1,524 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,524 m of the 2,256 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 454 m touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with the Vision Jet taxiing from the parking area to the runway at L88 New Cuyama, a process that took 7 minutes and covered less than 1 nautical mile. Once on the runway, the aircraft took off from runway 10, covering a distance of 482 meters, which was 40% of the runway length. The liftoff speed was 87 knots.
The local weather conditions at the time of takeoff were characterized by a temperature of 16°C, with a wind speed of 1 knot at 269°. This resulted in a crosswind of 0 knots and a tailwind of 1 knot. The aircraft then began its enroute climb, starting overhead L88 New Cuyama, where it ascended from 2,838 feet above sea level to 6,509 feet above sea level, an increase of 3,671 feet in just 3 minutes, covering a distance of 6 nautical miles.
Following the initial climb, the aircraft entered a level cruise, starting 6 miles northeast of New Cuyama, and lasted for 3 minutes, covering a distance of 16 nautical miles. The aircraft then began its first descent, starting 2 miles east of Dustin Acres, where it descended from 5,564 feet above sea level to 2,006 feet above sea level, a decrease of 3,558 feet in 3 minutes, covering a distance of 10 nautical miles.
The aircraft then entered another level cruise, starting 4 miles southwest of Rosedale, and lasted for 3 minutes, covering a distance of 6 nautical miles. The next descent began overhead Greenacres, where the aircraft descended from 2,221 feet above sea level to 1,500 feet above sea level, a decrease of 721 feet in 2 minutes, covering a distance of 2 nautical miles.
The aircraft then entered another level cruise, starting 1 mile south of KBFL Meadows Field Bakersfield, and lasted for 2 minutes, covering a distance of 2 nautical miles. The final approach to runway 30R at KBFL Meadows Field began from the southeast, heading 310.0° at 1 nautical mile and 252 feet above ground level.
The landing on runway 30R at KBFL Meadows Field was successful, with a touchdown distance of 451 meters, which was good. The touchdown speed was 61 knots, also good, and the touchdown rate was excellent at -62 feet per minute. However, the runway touchdown position was misaligned by 9.1 meters from the centerline. The local weather conditions at the time of landing were characterized by a temperature of 15°C, with a wind speed of 1 knot at 270°, resulting in a crosswind of 1 knot and a headwind of 1 knot.
The total landing distance was 621 meters, which was 28% of the runway length. The runway rollout alignment was slightly misaligned by 10.9 meters from the centerline. The aircraft then taxied to the parking area from the runway, a process that took 2 minutes and covered less than 1 nautical mile. The total flight distance was 44 nautical miles, taking 22 minutes, and the aircraft used 65 kilograms of fuel.
The Vision Jet aircraft successfully landed at KBFL Meadows Field, achieving a score of 91.8%. The final approach to runway 30R was initiated from the south east, heading 310.0° at 1 nm and 252 ft above ground level (agl). The aircraft successfully touched down on the runway, which has a length of 2,256 meters.
The threshold height at 58 ft agl was slightly above the target, indicating a minor deviation in the aircraft's descent. However, the threshold speed of 77 kt was well above the target, suggesting that the aircraft was able to maintain a higher speed than intended during the approach. This could be attributed to the aircraft's performance capabilities or the pilot's decision to maintain a higher speed for a smoother landing.
The touchdown distance of 451 meters was considered good, indicating that the aircraft was able to maintain control and land within a reasonable distance. The touchdown speed of 61 kt was also good, suggesting that the aircraft was able to slow down effectively before touching down. The touchdown rate of -62 ft per minute (fpm) was excellent, indicating a smooth and controlled descent.
However, there were some minor deviations during the landing. The runway touchdown position was misaligned by 9.1 meters from the centreline, indicating that the aircraft did not land directly on the centre of the runway. Additionally, the runway rollout alignment was slightly misaligned by 10.9 meters from the centreline, suggesting that the aircraft did not maintain a straight path during the rollout.
The local weather conditions at the time of landing were favorable, with a temperature of 15°C and a wind speed of 1 kt from 270°. The crosswind and headwind components were both 1 kt, indicating minimal wind effects on the aircraft's landing. Overall, the Vision Jet aircraft demonstrated good performance and control during the landing, with some minor deviations that can be improved upon in future landings.
