Improve the pattern downwind leg
The 45-degrees-behind-the-wing cue assumes you can turn your head and use peripheral vision. Downwind spacing cues like "put the wingtip halfway up the strut" assume a fixed, known eyepoint. Neither survives a monitor unmodified. If you fly on a fixed monitor, stop pretending and fly a numbers-based circuit.

One stabilised approach gate for a circuit: six checks at the point nearest 500 ft above the runway after the base turn. The 1,000 ft gate is an instrument-approach check and does not apply.
The approach, gate by gate
Side view — the last 1,524 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,524 m of the 2,490 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 330 m touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The aircraft taxied to runway 23 at EHGG Groningen Airport Eelde and commenced the departure roll, achieving a take-off distance of 689 m, which represented 28 % of the available runway. Liftoff occurred at 113 kt. Ambient conditions were 16 °C with a wind of 1 kt from 273°, resulting in zero cross-wind and zero head-wind components.
During the approach the flight entered a left-hand pattern on runway 23, covering less than 1 nm in 27 seconds for the entry and less than 1 nm in 13 seconds for the cross-wind segment. The downwind turn spanned 2 nm with a 79.6° angle to the runway, followed by a 2 nm downwind leg completed in 42 seconds. The base-leg turn covered 1 nm with a 10.9° angle to the runway. The final approach was flown from the north-east on a heading of 223.0° at 1 nm and 291 ft AGL, maintaining the same weather conditions as noted for departure.
Landing was executed on runway 23, whose length is 2 493 m. The threshold speed was recorded at 108 kt, and touchdown occurred 335 m down the runway at 94 kt with a vertical speed of minus 77 fpm. Alignment at touchdown was perfect, and the runway environment matched the departure weather (16 °C, wind 1 kt from 273°, zero cross- and head-wind).
In total the flight covered 7 nm, required 4 minutes of elapsed time, and consumed 3 kg of fuel.
The aircraft made final approach to runway 23 at EHGG Groningen Airport Eelde from the north-east, on a heading of 223.0° at 1 nm and 291 ft AGL. Local weather was temperature 16 °C, wind 1 kt from 273°, crosswind 0 kt and headwind 0 kt.
The threshold height was good and the aircraft crossed the threshold at a speed of 108 kt, which was described as good.
Touchdown occurred 335 m down the runway at a speed of 94 kt, with a vertical rate of minus 77 fpm, which was rated excellent, and runway alignment was perfect.
With a final score of 93.7 % the landing was solid; concentrate on keeping the touchdown point consistently near the 300-m aim point and fine-tune flare height to preserve the excellent vertical rate. Maintaining the current speed and alignment will sustain the high performance.
