Work on the flare
Arrive slow and the sink rate at the threshold is already above schedule, the flare is short because there is no energy to extend it, and the touchdown is hard in a way that feels exactly like a late flare. Diagnosing a slow arrival as a late flare is the catastrophic misread: you respond by flaring earlier, which bleeds more speed, which makes the next one worse. The tiebreaker is threshold speed against VRef, not feel. Never diagnose a flare without it.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
Two stabilised approach gates, each with six checks, where the approach path is 1,000 ft and 500 ft above the runway. They are the approach's score: the checks passed out of the checks that ran.
The approach, gate by gate
Side view — the last 5,000 ft of the approach.
Plan view — the first 5,000 ft of the 8,284 ft runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 330 ft touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
Departing Topeka Regional Airport (KFOE), the aircraft began its taxi to the runway, covering less than 1 nautical mile in 4 minutes. Upon reaching runway 21, the departure roll commenced, with the aircraft taking off in 2,711 feet, utilizing 39% of the runway's length. Liftoff speed was achieved at 142 knots, as the aircraft lifted off into the local weather conditions, characterized by a temperature of 61°F and a gentle headwind of 1 knot.
As the aircraft climbed away from KFOE, it began its enroute climb, reaching an altitude of 25,007 feet above sea level in 10 minutes, covering a distance of 62 nautical miles. The climb was initiated 1 mile southwest of the departure airport, and the aircraft continued to ascend, eventually reaching the enroute level cruise phase. This phase began 4 miles east of Dearborn, Missouri, and lasted for 34 minutes, during which the aircraft covered 288 nautical miles. Following the cruise phase, the aircraft commenced its enroute descent, which started 4 miles northwest of Orangeville, Illinois. The descent from 25,000 feet to 2,111 feet above sea level was completed in 14 minutes, covering 81 nautical miles.
As the aircraft approached General Mitchell International Airport (KMKE), it began its final approach to runway 07R, aligning with the runway from the west at a heading of 72.0°. The aircraft touched down on the runway, with a touchdown distance of 326 feet, slightly below the target threshold speed of 103 knots. The touchdown speed was 101 knots, and the touchdown rate was firm at -364 feet per minute. The aircraft's runway touchdown position was slightly misaligned from the centerline, and the runway rollout alignment was also slightly off-center. Following the landing, the aircraft taxied to the parking area, covering less than 1 nautical mile in 1 minute. The total flight distance was 437 nautical miles, with a total flight time of 67 minutes, and the aircraft utilized 0 pounds of fuel.
The aircraft, C750, successfully executed a final approach to runway 07R at KMKE General Mitchell International Airport from the west, aligning with the runway at a heading of 72.0° at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,367 feet above ground level. The approach quality was satisfactory, with a good threshold height allowing for a controlled descent onto the runway. However, the threshold speed was slightly below the target at 103 knots, indicating a slight delay in the touchdown process.
Upon touchdown, the aircraft demonstrated good control, with a touchdown distance of 326 feet and a touchdown speed of 101 knots. The touchdown rate was firm at -364 feet per minute, indicating a controlled deceleration. Although the runway touchdown position was slightly misaligned by 23 feet from the centreline, the aircraft maintained stability and control throughout the landing. The local weather conditions, with a temperature of 59°F and a light wind of 2 knots at 270°, contributed to a smooth landing.
The total landing distance of 1,934 feet, which accounted for 25% of the runway length, was within acceptable limits. During the rollout phase, the aircraft's alignment was slightly misaligned by 31 feet from the centreline, indicating a slight deviation from the desired path. Despite this, the overall performance of the landing was satisfactory, with a score of 95.1%. The pilot's skills and the aircraft's handling characteristics were demonstrated to be effective in achieving a safe and controlled landing.
