Maintain the centreline
A small uncorrected heading error at 40 knots becomes a metre of offset per second by 100 knots, noticed only at rotation, producing a crabbed liftoff. Root cause is nearly always eyes on the tape instead of the far end of the runway. Small heading changes displace a distant point visibly long before the nearby centreline stripes look wrong.

One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
Side view — the last 1,524 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,524 m of the 3,299 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
Touched down 533 m past the threshold — beyond the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with the Boeing 747-8 taxiing from the parking area to the runway at Keflavik International Airport, taking 11 minutes and covering a distance of 2 nautical miles. Departure roll took place on runway 28, with the aircraft lifting off after a takeoff distance of 1,460 meters, which was 48% of the runway length. The liftoff speed was 173 knots.
As the aircraft took to the skies, it encountered local weather conditions of 12°C temperature and a wind speed of 6 knots at 309 degrees. The crosswind was 4 knots, while the headwind was 5 knots. The enroute climb started 1 mile west of the airport, with the aircraft ascending from 1,096 feet above sea level to 35,610 feet, an increase of 34,514 feet in 11 minutes and covering a distance of 66 nautical miles.
The enroute level cruise began 3 miles south of Hvolsvoellur, Iceland, and lasted for 118 minutes, covering a distance of 1,008 nautical miles. The aircraft then started its enroute descent 1 mile west of Marslet, Denmark, descending from 36,663 feet to 2,953 feet in 19 minutes and covering 93 nautical miles.
The aircraft then experienced a series of short climbs and descents, starting with a climb from 2,954 feet to 3,583 feet in 2 minutes and covering 4 nautical miles, and followed by a descent from 3,251 feet to 1,336 feet in 2 minutes and covering 5 nautical miles.
The final approach to runway 22L at Copenhagen Kastrup Airport took place from the north-east, with the aircraft heading 222.0 degrees at 4 nautical miles and 1,314 feet above ground level. The landing took place on a runway length of 3,299 meters, with a good threshold height and threshold speed of 144 knots.
The touchdown point was 119 meters beyond the touchdown zone, with a touchdown speed of 140 knots and a smooth touchdown rate of -132 feet per minute. However, the runway touchdown position was slightly misaligned by 5.9 meters from the centreline. The local weather conditions at the time of landing were 13°C temperature and a wind speed of 15 knots at 260 degrees, with a crosswind of 10 knots and a headwind of 12 knots.
The total landing distance was 1,330 meters, which was 40% of the runway length. The runway rollout alignment was also slightly misaligned by 9.6 meters from the centreline. Taxiing to the parking area from the runway took 5 minutes and covered less than 1 nautical mile.
The total flight distance was 1,185 nautical miles, taking 167 minutes and using 18,909 kilograms of fuel.
The Boeing 747-8 aircraft successfully landed at EKCH Copenhagen Kastrup Airport, achieving a high score of 95.7%. The final approach to runway 22L was initiated from the north east, with a heading of 222.0° at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,314 feet above ground level (agl).
The aircraft touched down on the runway with a good threshold height, and the threshold speed was also satisfactory at 144 knots. The touchdown point was located 119 meters beyond the designated touchdown zone, which is a relatively minor deviation. The touchdown speed of 140 knots was within the acceptable range, and the touchdown rate was smooth at -132 feet per minute (fpm).
However, there were some minor issues with the alignment of the aircraft during the landing. The runway touchdown position was slightly misaligned by 5.9 meters from the centerline, and the runway rollout alignment was also slightly off by 9.6 meters from the centerline. These deviations are relatively minor and did not appear to have any significant impact on the overall safety of the landing.
The local weather conditions at the time of the landing were characterized by a temperature of 13°C and a wind speed of 15 knots from a direction of 260°. This resulted in a crosswind of 10 knots and a headwind of 12 knots. The total landing distance was 1,330 meters, which is approximately 40% of the runway length. Overall, the landing was successful, and the aircraft came to a stop without any issues.
