Maintain the centreline
A small uncorrected heading error at 40 knots becomes a metre of offset per second by 100 knots, noticed only at rotation, producing a crabbed liftoff. Root cause is nearly always eyes on the tape instead of the far end of the runway. Small heading changes displace a distant point visibly long before the nearby centreline stripes look wrong.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 152 m above the runway. The 305 m gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
The approach, gate by gate
Side view — the last 1,524 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,524 m of the 2,074 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 414 m touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with the aircraft taxiing from the parking area to the runway at LOWG Graz Airport, a process that took 10 minutes and covered a distance of 1 nautical mile. The departure roll took place on runway 16C, with the aircraft lifting off at a speed of 152 knots. The local weather conditions at the time of departure were characterized by a temperature of 27 degrees Celsius and a wind speed of 7 knots from a direction of 254 degrees.
As the aircraft climbed away from the airport, it began its enroute climb, which started 1 mile north of Zettling in the Austrian state of Steiermark. The climb took the aircraft from an altitude of 614 meters above sea level to 10,367 meters, an increase of 9,753.3 meters, in just 15 minutes and covering a distance of 81 nautical miles. The aircraft then entered a level cruise phase, which lasted for 5 minutes and covered a distance of 38 nautical miles.
The next enroute climb phase began 1 mile southeast of Esternberg in the Austrian state of Oberoesterreich, where the aircraft climbed from 10,368 meters to 11,587 meters, an increase of 1,218.4 meters, in just 5 minutes and covering a distance of 36 nautical miles. The aircraft then entered another level cruise phase, which started 2 miles northwest of Wallersdorf in the German state of Bavaria and lasted for 49 minutes, covering a distance of 373 nautical miles.
As the aircraft continued its journey, it began its enroute descent phase, which started overhead Sluiskil in the Dutch province of Zeeland. The descent took the aircraft from an altitude of 11,590 meters to 4,268 meters, a decrease of 7,322.1 meters, in 18 minutes and covering a distance of 109 nautical miles. The aircraft then entered another level cruise phase, which lasted for 3 minutes and covered a distance of 18 nautical miles.
The next enroute descent phase began 2 miles southeast of Bury St Edmunds in the English county of Suffolk, where the aircraft descended from 4,268 meters to 3,964 meters, a decrease of 303.8 meters, in just 2 minutes and covering a distance of 8 nautical miles. The aircraft then entered another level cruise phase, which started overhead Ashley in the English county of Cambridgeshire and lasted for 3 minutes, covering a distance of 16 nautical miles.
The final enroute descent phase began overhead Oakington in the English county of Cambridgeshire, where the aircraft descended from 3,942 meters to 548 meters, a decrease of 3,393.6 meters, in 9 minutes and covering a distance of 25 nautical miles. The aircraft then began its final approach to runway 25 at EGGW London Luton Airport, which it landed on after a total landing distance of 893 meters, or 43% of the runway length.
The local weather conditions at the time of landing were characterized by a temperature of 19 degrees Celsius and a wind speed of 10 knots from a direction of 283 degrees. The aircraft touched down at a speed of 120 knots and had a touchdown rate of -1.7 meters per second. However, the runway touchdown position was slightly misaligned from the centerline by 14.9 meters, and the runway rollout alignment was also slightly misaligned by 14.7 meters from the centerline.
After landing, the aircraft taxied to the parking area, a process that took 6 minutes and covered a distance of less than 1 nautical mile. The total flight distance was 712 nautical miles, and the aircraft used a total of 4,101 kilograms of fuel during the flight.
The Airbus A320 successfully landed at EGGW London Luton Airport, achieving a score of 92.2%. The aircraft was approaching the runway from the east, heading 254.0° at an altitude of 389.2 meters above ground level (agl) and a distance of 4 nautical miles from the runway. The final approach was conducted with a good threshold height, indicating that the aircraft was properly configured for landing.
Upon touchdown, the aircraft's speed was slightly below the target threshold speed of 127 knots, registering at 127 kt. This minor deviation did not significantly impact the overall performance of the landing. The touchdown distance of 411 meters was also within acceptable limits, demonstrating the pilot's ability to control the aircraft's descent and speed.
The touchdown speed of 120 kt was good, and the touchdown rate of -1.7 meters per second was firm, indicating a controlled and stable landing. However, the runway touchdown position was misaligned by 14.9 meters from the centerline, which may have been due to factors such as wind or pilot error.
The local weather conditions at the time of the landing were favorable, with a temperature of 19°C and a wind speed of 10 knots from 283°. The crosswind component was minimal at 5 kt, while the headwind component was 9 kt. These conditions did not significantly impact the landing performance.
The total landing distance of 893 meters was 43% of the runway length, which is within acceptable limits. The runway rollout alignment was also slightly misaligned by 14.7 meters from the centerline, which may have been due to the same factors that caused the initial touchdown position misalignment.
Overall, the Airbus A320's landing at EGGW London Luton Airport was successful, with the aircraft achieving a good score of 92.2%. While there were minor deviations from the target parameters, the pilot's performance was generally good, and the aircraft's systems functioned as intended.
