Begin raising the nose sooner, at 11 ft, rather than waiting until 0.3 ft.
What happened: The flare began late at 0.3 ft, below the normal band.
Watch for: Radio altimeter approaching 11 ft as the cue to start the flare.
A crosswind landing is a geometry problem. The air mass you're flying in is moving sideways across the runway, and you need your ground track down the centreline with your wheels aligned to it at the moment of contact. There are two techniques that will help, the crab and the sideslip.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
Two stabilised approach gates, each with seven checks, where the approach path is 1,000 ft and 500 ft above the runway. They are the approach's score: the checks passed out of the checks that ran.
The approach, gate by gate
Side view — the last 650 m of the approach.
Plan view — the full 650 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
Touched down 461 m past the threshold — beyond the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The Cessna 172 taxied to runway 09 at EGWO Eddsfield Airfield and commenced the departure roll. The aircraft used a takeoff distance of 284 m, representing 43 % of the runway, and lifted off at 63 kt. Ambient conditions were 14 °C with a wind of 18 kt from 140°, a cross-wind component of 15 kt and a head-wind component of 10 kt.
Climb began over EGXR Octon Airstrip, Wold Newton, with the airplane ascending from 1,445 ft asl to 2,506 ft asl. The altitude gain of 1,061 ft was achieved in 2 minutes while covering 2 nm.
Level cruise was established one mile north-west of Rudston and persisted for 20 minutes, during which the aircraft travelled 29 nm.
Descent commenced over Kilham, with the aircraft descending from 2,506 ft asl to 1,589 ft asl. The loss of 916 ft occurred over 3 minutes and spanned 3 nm.
The final approach to runway 06 at EGGC Bridlington Airfield was flown from the south-west on a heading of 55.0° at 4 nm and 1,279 ft agl.
Landing on runway 06, which is 650 m long, was executed with a threshold height of 58 ft agl slightly above target and a threshold speed of 63 kt. Touchdown occurred beyond 75 % of the available runway, at a speed of 60 kt, with a touchdown rate of minus 150 fpm and perfect alignment. Local weather remained 14 °C, wind 18 kt from 140°, cross-wind 18 kt and head-wind 2 kt. The total landing distance recorded was 618 m, representing 95 % of the runway.
Rollout proceeded with perfect runway alignment, completing the landing roll within the 618 m distance.
In total, the flight covered 39 nm, required 29 minutes of airborne time and consumed 8 kg of fuel.
The Cessna 172 entered the final approach to runway 06 at EGGC Bridlington Airfield from the south-west on a heading of 55.0° at 4 nm and 1,279 ft agl, with a temperature of 14 °C, wind 18 kt from 140°, a 2 kt headwind component and an 18 kt cross-wind component. The approach was assessed as stabilised at the 1,000 ft gate, with gear, flaps, sink rate, glideslope and centreline all within limits.
At threshold the aircraft encountered a height of 58 ft agl, which was slightly above target, and a threshold speed of 63 kt, which was recorded as good.
Touchdown occurred beyond the intended aim point, using more than 75 % of the available runway, and the touchdown speed of 60 kt was a little fast. The vertical speed at touchdown was minus 150 fpm, which was good, and runway touchdown alignment was perfect.
The aircraft rolled out over a total landing distance of 618 m, representing 95 % of the runway, and rollout alignment remained perfect.
To improve the score, aim to achieve touchdown within the first 300 m (approximately 1,000 ft) of the runway and reduce the final approach speed to the target VREF. Maintaining the current alignment and rate of descent will support a smoother, shorter landing.
