Improve the taxi
Twenty knots on a monitor produces the visual sensation of about ten. The advice to "taxi at a walking pace" cannot fix this, because your sense of walking pace is exactly the thing that's broken. Put the groundspeed readout in your scan and obey it for the next fifty flights, the way a student pilot leans on the airspeed indicator before learning to read attitude.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
Side view — the last 5,000 ft of the approach.
Plan view — the first 5,000 ft of the 12,304 ft runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 487 ft touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with a taxiing period from the parking to the runway, which took 9 minutes and covered a distance of 2 nautical miles. The aircraft, a Boeing 737-800, then departed from runway 35R at LTFM İstanbul Airport. The takeoff distance was 4,717 feet, which is 35% of the runway length. The liftoff speed was 156 knots.
The local weather conditions at the time of departure were characterized by a temperature of 59°F and a wind speed of 7 knots at a direction of 70°. This resulted in a crosswind of 7 knots and a headwind of 2 knots. The aircraft then began its enroute climb, starting 1 mile northwest of LTFM İstanbul Airport Arnavutköy. The climb took 12 minutes and covered a distance of 52 nautical miles, during which the aircraft ascended from an altitude of 1,341 feet above sea level to 25,099 feet above sea level, an increase of 23,759 feet.
Following the enroute climb, the aircraft entered a level cruise phase, which started 3 miles northeast of Karamursel in Kocaeli, Turkey. This phase lasted for 12 minutes and covered a distance of 104 nautical miles. The aircraft then began its enroute descent, starting 4 miles southeast of Kibriscik in Bolu, Turkey. The descent took 12 minutes and covered a distance of 60 nautical miles, during which the aircraft descended from an altitude of 25,054 feet above sea level to 7,966 feet above sea level, a decrease of 17,087 feet.
The aircraft then entered another level cruise phase, which started 2 miles west of Sabanozu in Cankiri, Turkey. This phase lasted for 2 minutes and covered a distance of 6 nautical miles. The aircraft then began its final descent, starting 7 miles southwest of Sabanozu. The descent took 4 minutes and covered a distance of 13 nautical miles, during which the aircraft descended from an altitude of 7,479 feet above sea level to 4,408 feet above sea level, a decrease of 3,071 feet.
The final approach to runway 21C at LTAC Esenboğa International Airport was made from the northeast, with a heading of 216.0° at an altitude of 4 nautical miles and 1,286 feet above ground level. The landing was successful, with a touchdown speed of 132 knots and a touchdown rate of -145 feet per minute. The runway touchdown alignment was perfect, and the local weather conditions at the time of landing were characterized by a temperature of 55°F and a wind speed of 2 knots at a direction of 360°.
The total landing distance was 3,855 feet, which is 31% of the runway length. The runway rollout alignment was also perfect. The taxiing period from the runway to the parking took 2 minutes and covered a distance of less than 1 nautical mile. The total flight distance was 245 nautical miles, and the flight duration was 57 minutes. The aircraft used 6,224 pounds of fuel during the flight.
The Boeing 737-800 aircraft successfully landed at LTAC Esenboğa International Airport, showcasing exceptional piloting skills and adherence to standard operating procedures. The final approach to runway 21C was initiated from the north east, with the aircraft heading 216.0° at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,286 feet above ground level.
The landing was executed with precision, with the aircraft touching down on the runway at a speed of 132 knots, which was within the acceptable threshold speed of 134 knots. The touchdown distance of 488 feet was also well within the expected range, indicating a smooth and controlled descent. The touchdown rate of -145 feet per minute was particularly noteworthy, as it demonstrated a high degree of control and stability during the landing phase.
The local weather conditions at the time of landing were favorable, with a temperature of 55°F and a wind speed of 2 knots from a direction of 360°. This resulted in a negligible crosswind component of 1 knot and a slight tailwind of 1 knot, which did not pose any significant challenges to the landing operation.
The total landing distance of 3,855 feet was 31% of the runway length, which is a relatively short distance considering the aircraft's size and weight. This suggests that the pilots were able to maintain a high degree of control and precision throughout the landing phase, resulting in a smooth and efficient touchdown. The runway rollout alignment was also perfect, indicating that the pilots were able to maintain control of the aircraft during the post-landing phase.
Overall, the landing of the Boeing 737-800 at LTAC Esenboğa International Airport was a textbook example of safe and efficient flight operations. The pilots' exceptional skills and adherence to standard operating procedures resulted in a smooth and controlled landing, with minimal disruption to the airport's operations.
